Position Summary:
The Outreach &amp; Communications Manager serves as a key member of the Communications team, complementing and supporting the work of the Director of Outreach &amp; Communications. In this role, you will be instrumental with driving brand awareness with our internal staff and external community partners. You will be the glue between our marketing and brand strategy, conception, production of branded collateral (which includes all printed materials), making sure the creative, digital and design teams are in alignment with our brand book and style guide.

JOB GOAL 
To spearhead parental and community engagement at all levels of the Cartwright School District through outreach, communications, marketing, advertising, canvassing and translation &amp; interpreting services.</div><div>
JOB REQUIREMENTS</div><ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communication, communications, marketing, or a related field.</li><li>
2+ years of experience in multimedia content production.</li><li>
Proven experience in video production and post-production, including creating video and/or audio content.</li><li>
Proficiency with professional DSLR/video cameras and editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop).</li><li>
Ability to work a flexible schedule and accommodate various shifts.</li></ul><div>
QUALIFICATIONS</div><ul><li>
Strong knowledge of Spanish language marketing &amp; communications</li><li>
Extensive experience with community &amp; parental engagement</li><li>
Excellent written and verbal skills</li><li>
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Strong understanding of crisis communications</li><li>
Professional understanding of marketing analysis: including surveys, design campaigns and enrollment canvassing outreach</li><li>
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.</li><li>
Friendly and approachable demeanor.</li><li>
Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times.</li><li>
A valid driver's license</li><li>
Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a school district communications department</li><li>
Bilingual required</li></ul><div>
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</div><ul><li>
Plan, coordinate and lead parental &amp; community district meetings</li><li>
Act as district representative at community engagement events throughout the district</li><li>
Craft district communications (in both English and Spanish) in the form of letters, robocalls, marketing materials and more in order to serve the Cartwright community</li><li>
Act as spokesperson for the district and lead for the Communications Department when the Director of Communications is unavailable</li><li>
Manage and train more than 200 district translators and interpreters</li><li>
Manage all interpreting during parent/teacher conferences for the district</li><li>
Serve as expert in the training of parent liaisons who require help at school sites</li><li>
Interpret high priority IEP meetings where attorneys are involved</li><li>
Responsible for proofreading materials distributed by district staff and schools</li><li>
Responsible for interpreting all Board Meetings and PAC meetings</li><li>
Responsible for translating all district newsletters, flyers and marketing materials</li><li>
Coordinating media interviews on behalf of the school district</li><li>
Responsible for crafting and administering all district surveys and disseminating the data to leadership in a clear and concise form</li><li>
Help create all marketing and disseminate all materials for the Communications &amp; Community Engagement Department</li><li>
Strong social media skills</li><li>
Responsible for assisting schools with marketing during large district-wide events</li><li>
Interview, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements.</li><li>
Complete ongoing professional development such as attending the ASPRA &amp; NSPRA conferences to remain up to date on standards and procedures.</li><li>
Communicate and meet with parents regarding their enrollment plans through community canvassing and any opportunities for outreach</li><li>
Manage and oversee the budget and accounts to ensure that the department remains financially fiscal.</li><li>
Develop and facilitate a marketing and communications plan in collaboration with the communications department.</li><li>
