The facility Assistant Probation Officers positions work within the Dakota County Juvenile Service Center 24 hour secured facility and are responsible for providing direct supervision to clients for the purpose of ensuring a safe environment, meeting case-plan goals, preparing progress notes and incident reports while working as part of a treatment team.These positions work with juveniles who have been ordered to our juvenile detention/treatment facility. Our Juvenile Service Center (JSC) provides, detention, short term treatment, long term treatment and gender specific treatment. All programming and services utilize Evidenced Based Practices for correctional programs.This position may include days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays as scheduled. The On-call APO will work hours equivalent to their FTE. <br>Must be 21 years of age or older to be consider for this position.Associate's degree or equivalent of two years post-secondary education in Corrections, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or related Human Services field AND one year experience in Corrections, Human Services Treatment Programs, or related experience.ORThree years experience in Corrections, Human Services Treatment Programs, or related experience. Required license(s): · Valid driver's license required· First Aid/CPR certificate within 6 months of hire. The employee will be responsible for a variety of job functions related to offenders, coaching to help those under<br>

The employee will be required to supervise a caseload of offenders, which may include but is not limited to: sex offenders, offenders placed on a variety of electronic monitoring devices including Global Positioning System (GPS), gender specific, mentally ill, Interstate Compact, or other specialized caseloads as designated by the Deputy Director of Field Operations. The employee may be assigned to act as an embedded agent assigned to a local law enforcement agency, an Institutional Parole Agent, or an Internet Crimes Against Children Agent (ICAC). The employee will follow policy, procedures, Director Office Memorandums (DOM) and Guiding Principles of the Department of Corrections in order to meet the goals of the Department.<br>

This is a position in which the incumbent has regular unsupervised access to and direct contact with probationers, or<br>
parolees, and is a DART (Drug/Alcohol Test Designated) position in accordance with Civil Service Rules. Some positions<br>
