The incumbent in this position is responsible for supervising, surveilling and maintaining a specialized caseload consisting of youthful offenders, drug offender probation, community controlees, pre-trial intervention offenders, offender releases or any combination of the above. As workload demands require, this position may be required to supervise other types or classifications of offenders. The incumbent may also perform duties relating to the intake officer, court liaison officer, trainer and electronic monitoring device installer. This position may also direct and supervise a correctional probation officer at a probation and restitution center and may involve monitoring a residential treatment facility and being the on-site departmental representative supervising the program participants.

</div><div>Exhibits appropriate demeanor and knowledge as a representative of department. Attends hearings or appears as a witness in any proceedings before a sentencing or releasing authority making determinations regarding offenders under supervision. Reports non-compliance with order of supervision to sentencing or releasing authority and prepares violation and other required reports, forwarding them to appropriate sentencing or releasing authority.</div><br>

PURPOSE OF POSITION:</i></b></p>

Provide supervision of offenders placed on probation with the goals of protection of the public, assistance of victims, and the reduction of recidivism, as directed by the Hendricks County Courts. There will be an emphasis on the use of evidence based practices. These duties are pursuant to the Orders of the Hendricks County Judges.</p><br>

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</i></b></p><br>

<li>Supervision duties include, but are not limited to, all activities necessary for monitoring of activity, substance abuse referrals, urine screens, paperwork, record keeping, fee collection, receiving and responding in a timely manner to all telephone, mail, and electronic mail correspondence and contacts of offenders placed on probation. Supervision duties also include but, are not limited to statutorily prescribed duties and requirements in the Indiana Code.</li>
<li>Court duties include, but are not limited to, testifying, providing recommendations on cases, cooperating with prosecutor and defense, and preparing all notes and documents as needed.</li>
<li>Field duties include, but are not limited to, home visits, home and vehicle searches, employment verification, and assisting law enforcement agencies as required.</li>
<li>Conduct criminal record checks through I.D.A.C.S.</li>
<li>Proficiency of Odyssey and SRS Case Management Systems.</li>
<li>Comply with Indiana Office of Court Services&rsquo; requirements for a Court Based Alcohol and Drug Program including C.S.A.M.S. certification or professional status.</li>

<li>Communicate incidents, issues and other relevant information accurately and timely to appropriate staff through recording entries into computer system, department/facility log and/or personally as appropriate.</li>
<li>Review department/facility log and other communication systems at least once daily to keep informed of issues.</li>
<li>Conduct internal and external rounds throughout the facility to ensure safety and monitor compliance with policies.</li>
<li>Monitor facility and client population for improper conduct or unauthorized persons inside facility, investigate and take appropriate action.</li>
<li>Report client violations timely and appropriately. Investigate violations as directed.</li>
<li>Support and enforce behavioral guidelines/sanctions for acceptable and unacceptable behaviors.</li>

<li>Complete and fax DOC counts daily as required.</li>
<li>Accept deposits, issue receipts to clients and secure payment in security office safe.</li>
<li>Transport clients in company van.</li>
<li>Supervise clients' visitors; sign visitors in and out through the security office.</li>
<li>Coordinate meals through sign-up process and monitor dining hall during mealtimes.</li>
<li>Retrieve and release property to authorized pick-up person.</li>

<li>Complete all paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.</li>
<li>Attend staff meeting monthly, CCS staff meetings and other required meetings as scheduled.</li>
