The Compliance Officer will assist in the day-to-day operations within the Compliance Department to Assure that procedures are carried out in compliance with the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), Tribal State Gaming Compact and the SSTGC as they apply to Class II and Class III gaming. This is an intermediate level position that is responsible for monitoring the gaming floor. Ensure that compliance training programs are delivered to employees at all levels to maintain awareness and understanding of compliance requirements. Develop, implement, and manage a risk-based monitoring and auditing framework to ensure the effectiveness of compliance programs.</p></li><li><p>
Supervise regular internal audits to assess compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and business practices. Provide timely and accurate reports to the Tribal Treasurer regarding the company&rsquo;s compliance status and any significant issues. Investigate non-compliance issues or complaints, and take corrective actions when necessary.</p></li><li><p>
Promote and uphold the company&rsquo;s ethical culture, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.</p></li><li><p>
Ensure that third-party vendors, contractors, and business partners adhere to applicable compliance standards and regulations. Oversee the due diligence process for assessing third-party risks related to compliance and legal matters.</p></li><li><p>
Manage and oversee regulatory investigations, examinations, and audits. Liaise with regulatory bodies and authorities, and coordinate responses to compliance inquiries and enforcement actions.</p></li><li><p>
Continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the compliance program and internal controls.
</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business, Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Juris Doctor (JD) or Master&rsquo;s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred. Certifications such as Certified Compliance &amp; Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Risk Professional (CRP), or similar are a plus.</p></li><li><p>
Minimum 10 years of experience in compliance, legal, regulatory, or risk management roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity. Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., financial services, healthcare, technology) preferred.</p></li><li><p>
In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks, and industry best practices. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex compliance issues in a clear and actionable manner. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic environment.</p></li><li><p>
A commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and fostering a culture of integrity within the organization.</p></li><li><p>
Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, regulators, and stakeholders, as well as guide and educate employees on compliance matters.</p></li><li><p>
