Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</b></p><ul><li>
Read and interpret measuring tools such as, tape measure, speed square, framing square etc. in order to perform task accurately.</li><li>
Fully Understand Plant North and drawing coordinates.</li><li>
Be able to perform tasks including, but not limited to; thread, bevel, and cut pipe.</li><li>
Use appropriate hand (i.e. wrap around) and power tools (i.e. grinders) to fit and install all types of pipe and/or similar tubular products; have working knowledge of all types of pipe and piping systems, including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued and fused joints;</li><li>
Assist in the following; Install valves, couplings and other fittings; disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe, etc.</li><li>
Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.</li><li>
Closely interact with the installation crews for movement of materials and equipment.</li><li>
Perform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.</li><li>
Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.</li><li>
Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman.</li><li>
Must have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.</li><li>
Support project with other tasks as directed by supervision.</li><li>
Communicate with Foreman regarding any problems arising, materials required, or any hazards noted.</li><li>
Ability to work different shifts and overtime as required.</li><li>

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</b></div><ul><li>
1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience</li><li>
High School Diploma or GED Certification (preferred)</li><li>
Experience working in one or more construction craft roles as a helper or laborer, or a combination of work experience and training, and a basic knowledge of the craft assigned.</li><li>
Must be at least 18 years of age</li></ul><div><b>
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:</b></div><ul><li>
Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.</li><li>
When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.</li><li>
Set a personal example of safe behavior.</li><li>
Proficient in one or more craft areas</li><li>
Ability to compute basics numbers, read scales and use simple fractions</li><li>
Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines</li><li>
Developing knowledge in the fabrication, installation or maintenance of construction components and systems testing of various systems with appropriate tools, and familiarity with any applicable state and federal codes. Must have all necessary for licenses required for the area the work is to be performed, if applicable.</li><li>
