ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:<ul><li>
Coordinate the preparation of the monthly financial statements and flash reports on a timely basis while also seeking to continually refine and improve that reporting.
</li><li>Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and cash position variance analysis.</li><li>
Manage the accounting department staff in a manner that continues to develop staff, provides continuity and backup, and produces a positive and supporting working environment consistent with Tawani as a whole.</li><li>
Assist in the design, preparation and monitoring of budgets for all entities.</li><li>
Coordinate forecasts of operations for all entities.</li><li>
Assist in working with business heads to provide business and financial support.
</li><li>Ensure that all invoicing and collections, vendor payments and servicing of the department&rsquo;s clients are handled on a timely and accurate basis.</li><li>
Design, implement and monitor accounting policies and procedures to ensure appropriate internal controls and review.</li><li>
Coordinate, prepare for and support annual external audits for all entities on a timely basis.</li><li>
Furnish the information necessary for the preparation of the annual tax returns for each entity.</li><li>
Review reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts for all entities on a monthly basis including all bank accounts, fixed assets and depreciation, construction accounts, partner equity accounts, intercompany activity, and all other payables, accruals and assets.

Position Summary:</div>
<div>Reporting to the Assistant Finance Manager, the AP Accountant is responsible for accurate, complete, and timely management of trade vendors, employee expenses and payments. The staff accountant works closely across all levels of leadership to review all payment requests processed in Concur Invoice and Expense Management. Approximately 150-200 invoices/reports are processed each week.</div>

Proactively revise accounting processes as necessary.</li><li>Prepare budgets and forecasts.</li><li>On an annual basis, prepare a custom assessment of each client&rsquo;s financial health, leveraging our proprietary Nonprofit Blueprint model.</li><li>Tackle client-related projects, such as building workpapers, investigating accounting discrepancies, completing chart of account revisions, performing cash- to accrual-basis conversions, etc.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience</li><li>At least 3 years of experience in full cycle accounting or external auditing</li><li>Energized by working with non-profit organizations</li><li>Have experience with Quickbooks Online or another accounting system</li><li>Ability to work independently</li><li>Experience with mentoring or training new team members, preferred</li><li>Experience with nonprofit accounting, preferred</li><li>Experience managing multiple clients, preferred</li></ul>What Success Looks Like in the First 60 Days:Like we mentioned above, we&rsquo;ll provide you with all the support and training you need to crush your goals inside the workplace.
