<b>JOB DUTIES / GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:</b><br>
The Controls Technician III is an experienced technician, and he/she is expected to be capable of all of the Technician II responsibilities but also must be certified in controls programming of BACnet Advance Application Controllers and be certified and considered proficient in programming and Niagara AX or N4 as well as IT computer networking. This position is also capable of all diagnostics, repair and programming in the field. This position will also oversee the more complicated jobs involving subcontractors as well as function as the foreman for self-performed work.<br>
<br>
The Controls Technician will be involved in many areas of Building Automation and Energy Management Controls, and will perform duties in Controls Service, Construction Startup and Controls Programming.</div>
<ul><li>Niagara AX certification a must.</li>
<li>In depth knowledge of HVAC systems, as well as controls programming, start-up and commissioning.</li>
<li>On site performance to assure projects are completed in a professional manner and on time.</li>

The Data Center Global Services team is looking for exceptional individuals to join our Controls organization as a Controls Technician for Service &amp; Construction of the Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) within Amazon data centers. The ideal candidate will possess technical background and experience in installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of field sensors, controllers, wiring, networking and programming associated with the industrial controls systems. Controls Technicians shall be responsible for participating in the installation, testing, troubleshooting and startup of equipment and controls system associated with the BMS and EPMS system deployment in the data centers. They will verify, configure, and troubleshoot field devices including Air Handler Unit (AHU) controllers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Temperature and Pressure Sensors, and Third Party Network or Serial Devices, controllers and network equipment.<br>

<ul><li>Primarily working in field at Data Center sites and supporting multiple sites under Deployment and/or Service.</li><li>Perform point to point checkouts between field devices and controllers.</li><li>Perform first-line diagnostics, troubleshooting and maintenance of instrumentation associated with the BMS and EPMS in data centers.</li><li>Perform network configurations and communication testing between third party devices and controllers or servers.</li><li>Configuration and calibration of sensors.</li><li>Able to read and understand Electrical schematics, control panel drawings. Basic understanding of close loop controls, field sensors scaling, AND/OR functions typically performed by industrial controllers.</li><li>Supervise low voltage electrical contractors who perform wiring and installation of field devices.</li><li>Commissioning and systems level testing support.</li><li>Provide red-lined drawings and recommendations based on field work and verify accuracy of as-built drawings.</li><li>Assist in performing root cause analysis during testing and commissioning.</li><li>Ensure all personnel on site utilize proper safety methodology.</li><li>Work on-call and a rotating schedule when required and responds to after-hours emergencies.</li><li>Perform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritization.</li></ul><br>

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</b></h2><ul><li>High school or equivalent diploma</li><li>Technical (Military/ Trade School) School diploma or Associate degree with one year experience related to industrial instrumentation/controls or equivalent electrical or mechanical operations experience.</li><li>Minimum one year of experience working with computer components and operating systems.</li><li>Minimum one year of experience with mission critical low and medium voltage electrical and/or mechanical systems.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>

What you will do</b></p><p>
Performs new installation and service for system commissioning of HVAC systems including Air handlers, Boilers, chilled water systems, variable air volume boxes, fan coils and exhaust fans etc... using Johnson Controls configuration and Metasys building automation tools to commission, troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Responds to basic warranty calls. Provide our customers with the highest level of technical field support to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service. Program and install new HVAC systems, help organize and execute projects to completion by communicating to project managers and preforming high quality point to point check out of systems.</p><p></p><p><b>
How you will do it</b></p><p>
Loads system-level controller software.</p><p>
Performs basic commissioning, system diagnostics and sequence testing from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e. sensors, relays, actuators, valves, etc) and completes all required commissioning documentation.</p><p>
Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.</p><p>
Preform basic building management system commissioning and diagnostics by adding and removing commissioned equipment points, trending and alarming those points for the customers so that they may receive alerts via email or text in case of emergency. Trending those points for historical data to diagnose and maintain HVAC systems</p><p>
Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. Documents changes and provide information for as-built documentation.</p><p>
Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.</p><p>
Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.</p><p>
Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.</p><p>
Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure customers facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.</p><p></p><p><b>

Entry level schooling (In school or graduated) or up to 2 years of experience electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field or at least 1-2 years of industry experience or experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.</p></li><li><p>
Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, electrical, facilities management systems, site preparation and coordination, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.</p></li><li><p>
