 The communications associate supports communications managers in promoting the Center&rsquo;s work to the news media, influential voices in new media spaces, key stakeholders and the engaged public.  The communications associate assists with all aspects of external relations, playing a major supporting role in the promotion and dissemination of research findings through media relations, including legacy news outlets, podcasts, newsletters, and independent creators on social media platforms; stakeholder engagement; and event planning, including briefings, presentations and panel discussions. They are assigned to support the Center&rsquo;s research teams on a rotating basis, offering broad exposure to the Center&rsquo;s work and growth opportunities in all aspects of the communications field.

The United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) is a network of strategically located hubs established to support humanitarian organizations and the broader international community in responding to emergencies and crises. Job Purpose<br>
The Communication Associate will support the UNHRD Network strategy cell, specifically the communications team, by focusing on content creation, graphic design, and providing support for communication activities, events, conferences, and press releases. Additionally, this role will aid in Information Management (IM) and reporting, ensuring that all communications are clear, impactful, and align with the organization&rsquo;s objectives.<div>
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):<br>
1. Perform specialized communications processes and activities, to support staff in the development, preparation, execution and dissemination of campaigns for target audiences.<br>
2. Conduct research, suggest ideas, and provide coordination support to ensure the timely and effective delivery of video/film, photographic and radio projects. Manage the storage and distribution of audio/visual materials in accordance with relevant policies.<br>
3. Serve as an information focal point, support and/or coordinate media coverage of events to optimize publicity of WFP&rsquo;s activities.<br>
4. Organize and execute special events, working closely with colleagues, external partners and media, to ensure events are effectively scheduled, publicized and attended.<br>
5. Monitor traditional and social media, and report relevant information to senior staff to inform the development and/or evaluation of communications activities and strategies.<br>
6. Under guidance, prepare content for use on traditional and social media platforms and networks, and printed materials, to enhance coverage and support of WFP&rsquo;s activities, ensuring consistency with corporate messages.<br>
7. Distribute and promote communications guidelines for WFP staff to refer to when creating content.<br>
8. Manage updates and further develop internal records and databases, ensuring information is accurate, organized and available for others to access.<br>

Ensure all publications, reports, infographics, brochures, flyers are consistent in terms of branding in alignment with WFP corporate guidelines.</div><div>
Maintain and further develop the graphic guidelines, in line with WFP/UNHRD&rsquo;s mandate.</div><div>
Develop design proposals for public information campaigns, conferences, events and meetings such graphics for multimedia, branding and signs, posters, brochures, reports and web graphics.</div><div>
Design templates for digital platforms and new publications and products in cooperation with internal team in charge.</div><div>

Qualifications and Experience</div><div>
