Additional details:

Corporate Legal &ndash; NBCU News Group (JD-level): The NBCUniversal News Group Media Law team supports NBCU brands including NBC News, NBCU Local, and Telemundo. We empower journalists to publish as much fair and accurate information in the public interest as possible by providing newsgathering advice, pre-publication and pre-broadcast review and newsroom training. We also prepare and negotiate media law agreements (e.g. releases, location agreements), assist with rights management across platforms, support tentpole events (e.g. elections, Olympics), advise on subpoenas, and partner with the Litigation team. News Group interns will assist in all of these areas, with a focus on researching defamation, privacy, IP, newsgathering, access, privilege and regulatory questions.</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
Basic Requirements:<ul><li>
Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. Spring 2026 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2026 internship program.</li><li>
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).</li><li>
Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.</li><li>
Must be available to work 40 hours per week from June 1 &ndash; August 7, 2026.</li><li>
Must be willing to work in New York, NY.</li></ul>

Universal Studio Group Business Affairs (undergrad-level): This intern will support the administrative arm of USG&rsquo;s Business Affairs and Legal Affairs Departments. We support the two departments by keeping track of all deal points, tracking options &amp; deadlines, talent fees, insurance and more. We work with IT to develop and maintain supporting applications to facilitate the deal-making and legal drafting functions, as well as robust reporting. We also interface with several other departments, such as Finance and Creative, as projects develop from an idea to a television series. Universal Products &amp; Experiences Business and Legal Affairs (JD-level): UP&amp;E Business and Legal Affairs is seeking an undergrad intern who will work closely with the team to handle responsibilities such as drafting legal correspondence and other legal documents under the supervision of an attorney or paralegal; communicating with internal and external clients and other studio departments regarding contracts; and working with the Contract Operations team on documents such as deal entries, weekly contract status reports, and final contract reconciliation.</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
Basic Requirements:<ul><li>
Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. Spring 2026 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2026 internship program.</li><li>
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).</li><li>
Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.</li><li>
Must be available to work 40 hours per week from June 1 &ndash; August 7, 2026.</li><li>
Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.</li></ul>
For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
Desired Characteristics:<ul><li>
Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.</li><li>
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.</li><li>
For Corporate Legal Rotational: Must be a current J.D. candidate in good standing; Current class standing of 1L or above preferred.</li><li>
For Corporate Legal &ndash; Music Business &amp; Legal Affairs: Must be a current J.D. candidate in good standing; Ability to understand music-related concepts and contractual language is a plus; Strong interest in music and/or transactional work.</li><li>
For USG Legal Affairs: Must be a current J.D. candidate in good standing; Current class standing of 2L or above preferred; Coursework or experience in intellectual property, right of publicity, defamation, privacy, labor/employment, entertainment, and/or transactional law and AI preferred; Familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate, JSON programming, or other workflow automation tools, including how they may be deployed in connection with developing legal contract forms.</li><li>
For USG Business Affairs: Must be studying in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Pre-Law, English.)</li></ul>
The hourly rate for undergraduate and graduate student interns is $19.00.
The hourly rate for JD student interns is $25.00.
