POSITION SUMMARY:
 
The Senior Financial Analyst &ndash; Public Works is responsible for providing analytical, technical, and financial administrative support to the Public Works Department. While primarily focused on supporting the controller, this position also provides day-to-day oversight of accounting specialists, ensuring they are well-informed and effectively utilizing financial systems and processes.
 
This role involves conducting high-value accounting and analytical work related to capital projects, grants, financial analytics development, and the implementation of best practices in financial systems. Additionally, the analyst supports the budget process by performing budget analytics, balance sheet reconciliations, and special project assignments. Collaboration with finance functions across Public Works departments is essential to ensure compliance with city-approved finance policies and procedures.
 
The analyst also analyzes financial requests, applies budget and finance guidelines, and interprets financial statements in accordance with relevant laws, including GAAP, GAAS, and GASB standards. Maintaining effective working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and the public is a key aspect of this position.
 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

</li><li>Prepare and maintain the City&rsquo;s long-range Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, &amp; LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
