<p>Maintains security in buildings/towers/other posts of an adult correctional facility; intervenes during emergencies or altercations and gains physical control of offenders</p>
<p>Supervises movement of offenders inside/outside the correctional facility; conducts periodic counts of offenders; searches offenders and their living quarters for contraband; Escorts/transports offenders to predetermined locations</p>
<p>Supervises offenders: in housing units; during the performance of work activities; during recreational/ religious activities</p>
<p>Conducts inspections for health and safety hazards; prepares/submits reports on offender violations of divisional or correctional facility rules/unusual offender behaviors/observed mechanical deficiencies/ security breaches or failures</p>
<p>Discusses minor adjustment problems with offenders; refers serious problems to proper correctional facility staff; promotes rehabilitation by attempting to modify offender&rsquo;s social attitudes/discouraging undesirable behaviors/encouraging worthwhile activities</p>

 Wilmington College invites applications for an administrative position as Student Success and Reentry Navigator for the Prison Education Program, to begin as soon as possible. This is a full-time, 12-month administrative position that is responsible for assisting currently and formerly incarcerated Wilmington College students with the resources and support they need to achieve their academic goals. Wilmington College currently provides bachelor&rsquo;s degree programs at Lebanon Correctional Institution (LeCI), Warren Correctional Institution (WCI), and Dayton Correctional Institution (DCI).<br>

 To support students&rsquo; academic goals, the Student Success and Reentry Navigator works with incarcerated students to determine what resources are needed to reach the student&rsquo;s academic and professional goals. For students who transition into the community, the Navigator will engage with formerly incarcerated students as an initial point of contact. In addition, the Navigator provides learning services to support students enrolled at the College&rsquo;s Prison Education Program sites. The Navigator liaises with the PEP Academic Area Coordinator, Site Coordinators, the PEP Program Manager, and the Academic Resources Office at the main campus to oversee and coordinate the recruiting, training, and evaluation of tutors, including peer tutors. This position also oversees and coordinates the supplemental instruction program as needed by PEP instructors.<br>

 This position works directly with incarcerated students in the correctional facilities and is expected to work alternating sites for program support in the Lebanon Correctional Institution, Warren Correctional Institute, and Dayton Correctional Institute, including some evenings each week. Serving as primary academic support and student success liaison to the Wilmington College main campus, LeCI, WCI, and DCI for enrolled students, maintaining strong working relationships with ODRC staff and Wilmington College PEP team members</li><li>

Designing, executing, and evaluating a tutoring and academic success plan that best serves the students of the PEP program</li><li>

This position coordinates and conducts fidelity and quality assurance reviews of juvenile community supervision agencies; providing feedback and recommendations to ensure fidelity to evidence-based principles and compliance with KDOC operating standards. This position will work with other division staff to ensure juvenile supervision agencies implement quality assurance practices in accordance with their annual comprehensive plans and in compliance with policies, procedures, statutes and regulations, etc. Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with Directors, staff, advisory board members and other community agencies/partners is necessary in this position.</p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
