<div><ul><li>Tour assigned housing units daily;</li>
<li>Accompany Warden, Deputy Wardens, Counselor Supervisor during tours of the assigned housing unit(s);</li>
<li>Communicate with the housing unit officers and supervisors; share pertinent information concerning safety and security of the facility;</li>
<li>Be available to meet with the offenders assigned to your caseload every day, on various issues including but not limited to; inmate accounts, property, visiting, crisis management, release programs, parole, phone procedures, parole issues, release dates, etc.;</li>
<li>Required to check emails and voicemails daily, and return both by end of business day;</li>
<li>Collect inmate requests on a daily basis and respond within fifteen business days;</li>
<li>Assist Counselor Supervisor or Unit Manager as needed in all areas of operation, program and treatment;</li>
<li>Conduct Legal calls as requested by the offender or an outside agency;</li>
<li>Refer offenders to available services and treatment programs;</li>

 Reporting to a Correctional Programs Supervisor, this position is responsible for conducting initial assessments of offender needs and developing case plans, monitoring for compliance and results, and revising as appropriate to meet offender needs and achieve system objectives. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

   Assessing offender behavior and developing counseling strategies to achieve desired offender progress.
  </li>
  <li>
   Answering offender questions, giving information about classification and sentencing status, corresponding with offender&rsquo;s families, and providing supportive counseling.

   Organizing and directing the activities of various rehabilitation programs provided for offenders.
  </li>

   Conducting work release and home leave investigations, coordinating community resources, and planning and coordinating transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community.

Provides counseling services, assists the inmates/detainees in adjusting to facility life and obtaining needed services or changes in assignment. Develops and implements programs within the facility to meet the individual needs of inmates/detainees, to include individual and group counseling.</p><p></p><p><b><br>

Resolves day-to-day problems with counseling. Refers inmates/detainees with serious problems to professional counseling staff.</li><li>
Provides assistance to the inmates/detainees in obtaining needed services. Serves as a representative for the inmate/detainee at classification committee meetings.</li><li>
Monitors inmate/detainee custody, housing, job and program assignments to ensure all cases are reviewed in a timely manner.</li><li>
Conducts visits to inmates/detainees assigned to caseload who are housed in special housing.</li><li>
Reviews inmate/detainee medical status to determine eligibility to work in volunteer job assignments.</li><li>

Qualifications:
