   Uses interview techniques and assessment instruments to determine the offender&rsquo;s security risks and programmatic needs; prepares case history reports and recommends program assignments.

   Reviews work and conduct records of all assigned offenders to determine progress or necessity of changing assignments or security classification; serves as a member of the classification unit for an assigned caseload.

   Advises offenders on personal problems, employment resources, vocational skills, educational and training needs, family problems and institutional adjustment.

   Delivers programs to offenders which are designed to assist in a successful re-entry into the community following release from incarceration.

<p><b>Summary: </b><br/>Midwest Psychological Center is seeking a full time Case Manager to work at the Heritage Trail Correctional Facility in Plainfield. Case Managers provide counseling services, assist the inmates/detainees in adjusting to facility life, and obtaining needed services or changes in assignment. Case Managers develop and implement programs within the facility to meet the individual needs of inmates/detainees.</p><p><b>Primary Duties and Responsibilities: </b></p><ul><li>Interviews newly admitted inmates/detainees.</li><li>Conducts facility orientation for newly assigned inmates/detainees explaining rules and regulations of the facility, available services and programs, and the disciplinary and classification process.</li><li>Provides individual counseling to inmates/detainees on an informal basis regarding work and housing assignments, adjustment problems, and family problems.</li><li>Resolves day-to-day problems with counseling. Refers inmates/detainees with serious problems to professional counseling staff.</li><li>Provides assistance to the inmates/detainees in obtaining needed services.   Responsibilities
  <br/>

 </strong>
 Reporting to a Correctional Programs Supervisor, this position is responsible for conducting initial assessments of offender needs and developing case plans, monitoring for compliance and results, and revising as appropriate to meet offender needs and achieve system objectives. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
 <br/>
 <br/>
 <ul>
  <li>
   Assessing offender behavior and developing counseling strategies to achieve desired offender progress.
  </li>
  <li>
   Answering offender questions, giving information about classification and sentencing status, corresponding with offender&rsquo;s families, and providing supportive counseling.
  </li>
  <li>
   Organizing and directing the activities of various rehabilitation programs provided for offenders.
  </li>
  <li>
   Conducting work release and home leave investigations, coordinating community resources, and planning and coordinating transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community.
  </li>
  <li>
   Making recommendations to the offender classification committees on an offenders&rsquo; program involvement or custody level change.
  </li>
  <li>
   Working with offenders whose problems, needs, and comprehension levels, vary greatly.
  </li>
  <li>
   Working in all sections of a Close, Medium, and Minimum Custody prison facility, which places them in constant contact with offenders.
  </li>
  <li>
   Serving in a custody role during certain activities and working some evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
