The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill one (1) permanent position for an Office Assistant 3 at Cedar Creek Corrections Center in Littlerock, WA. This position works under general supervisor of the Administrative Assistant 4, independently performing a variety of complex clerical projects and assignments, establishing manual or electronic record keeping/filing system and/or database files, and responding to inquiries requiring substantive knowledge of office/departmental policies and procedures in support of the Department of Corrections mission, to improve public safety and supports the Superintendent's Office.</p><p><b>
AGENCY PROFILE:</b></p><p>
The Department of Corrections, as a partner in the criminal justice system, enhances public safety, administers criminal sanctions and programs in accordance with the law, and provides leadership for the future of corrections in Washington State. The Department consists of the Office of the Secretary, Prisons Division, Community Corrections Division, Administrative Services Division, and Health Services. The Department employs over 7,600 staff and has a biennial budget of approximately $1.6 billion.</p><p><br>
CCCC is a 480-bed male facility. The facility is located in the Capital Forest 20 miles south of Tumwater. CCCC is co-located with the Department of Natural Resources and is a minimum-security facility. This facility houses minimum security incarcerated individuals and offers treatment, work, and vocational programs to help ready incarcerated individuals to transition back into the community. CCCC is a sustainability prison; some of the many programs include rehabilitation of ailing Western Pond Turtles, raising bees, training service dogs, and composting. The site includes two living units, a health clinic, education buildings, a gymnasium and support facilities. All incarcerated individuals work at this facility either on an off-site work crew or within the facility grounds.</p><p>

Assists with keeping Ombuds Monthly Outcome Reports (MOR) up-to-date and posted in the Cascade/Olympic Living Units and Alpine Building&rsquo;s Resource Room for incarcerated individual accessibility.</li><li>
Office Memorandums (OM) &ndash; Assists Administrative CS2 in preparing for Executive Management Meetings the copies of up-to-date OMs, supports and backs up the facility&rsquo;s SharePoint Administrator (CS2) by uploading completed and signed off OM&rsquo;s to CCCC&rsquo;s SharePoint site, distributing, printing, and filing them into binders</li></ul></li><li>
Scanning and filing</li><li>
Answer all incoming calls to CCCC on multi-line phone in a professional, courteous, and timely manner, always maintaining a positive and helpful attitude.</li><li>
Provide answers to questions and transfer calls to appropriate staff throughout the institution to ensure callers get answers to their questions within established public disclosure guidelines, policies, etc.</li><li><p>

This position manages a caseload of participant cases by administering the policies and procedures of the program as directed by the contracting agency and the Program Manager or Supervising Case Manager. Learns, uses and models principles of the &ldquo;What Works&rdquo; system through evidence-based practices in all interactions with participants and other staff members. This position reports on program operations to ensure that all requirements of the criminal justice system are met.<br>

Manages a participant caseload using principles of the &ldquo;What Works&rdquo; system. Conducts risk/need assessments and creates individual treatment plans for each assigned participant. Meets regularly with participants and documents participants&rsquo; progress or regress in Company database.</li><li>
Conducts orientation meetings with new participants to explain program rules and regulations. Verbally explains the participant contract in detail to ensure that the participant understands his/her responsibilities. Installs electronic monitoring equipment on new participants when necessary.</li><li>
Sets participant schedules and specifies all approved activities based on sentencing information. Approves temporary schedule changes for approved activities.</li><li>
Collects participant fees on an on-going basis when required. Notifies the Program Manager of delinquent fees.</li><li>
Monitors participant compliance with alcohol and/or drug counseling when required.</li><li>
Reports all program violations to the appropriate agency or official via the established reporting parameters.</li><li>
Troubleshoots equipment problems and relays technical problems to the Program Manager for resolution.</li><li>
May review daily summaries each morning and forward reports to the appropriate agency as required.</li><li>
Reports on the status of program operations regularly to ensure all necessary documentation is prepared for court review.</li><li>

<p></p><div><div>In this position, you will provide clerical and administrative support within the library while assisting the librarian. You will help ensure that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently, maintaining an orderly environment and enforcing all agency, facility, and library policies among inmate workers and patrons. You will assist individuals in locating, accessing, and using a wide range of library resources, including recreational, legal, and reentry materials. You will collaborate with the librarian on training, scheduling, hiring, and, when necessary, the termination of inmate workers. Responsibilities include helping oversee general library services, law library functions, and housing unit support. Additionally, you will coordinate daily callouts for inmate library access, maintain accountability for authorized individuals, and establish consistent routines for servicing housing units, including the delivery and inventory of library materials.</div><div><br>

Work Schedule and Additional Information:</b></div><ul><li>
Full-time employment, 37.5 hour-work week</li><li>
Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday - Thursday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Friday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.</li><li>
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.</li><li><b>
Telework: </b>You will not have the option to telework in this position.</li><li><b>
Salary:</b><b><i> </i></b>Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $42,406.00 (before taxes).</li><li>
