Compliance &amp; Accounting Specialist</b></div><div><br>
<b>
Position Summary</b></div><div>
The Compliance &amp; Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring labor, contract, and payment compliance on construction projects&mdash;particularly those governed by federal and state regulations such as Davis Bacon wage and certified payroll requirements. This role serves as a key liaison between Operations and Accounting while making sure compliance is in order to support the project through accurate documentation, subcontractor oversight, and job-based accounts payable processing.<br>

The position plays a critical role in mitigating risk by verifying contractor and subcontractor compliance, auditing payroll and payment documentation, and supporting reporting requirements.<br>

Labor &amp; Regulatory Compliance:</b></div><ul><li>
Monitor compliance with applicable labor regulations, including Davis-Bacon wage requirements.</li><li>
Collect, review, and audit weekly Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs), Statements of Compliance, and fringe benefit documentation.</li><li>
Verify correct wage determinations and job classifications are being used.</li><li>
Educate contractors, subcontractors, and internal staff on compliance requirements and changes that have been made.</li><li>
Maintain organized compliance records to support audits and reporting.</li><li>
Identify compliance risks and coordinate corrective actions with management team.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Subcontractor &amp; Contract Administration:</b></div><ul><li>
Serve as primary contact for subcontractor compliance documentation.</li><li>
Track insurance, licenses, bonds, and renewal expirations.</li><li>
Review subcontract agreements and documentation prior to payment.</li><li>
Coordinate with Operations and Project Managers to resolve issues.</li><li>
Assist with preconstruction compliance setup when required.</li><li>
Cross train to be a backup for contract admin support during award season.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Job-Based Accounts Payable:</b></div><ul><li>
Process job-specific accounts payable for subcontractors and vendors.</li><li>
Match invoices to contracts/commitments, cost codes, and check compliance requirements are cleared.</li><li>
Verify payment eligibility based on compliance status.</li><li>
Coordinate with Project Managers/Accounting on accurate job cost allocation.</li><li>
Resolve invoice discrepancies and compliance holds.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Reporting &amp; Audit Support:</b></div><ul><li>
Prepare internal compliance and tracking reports.</li><li>
Support internal and external audits.</li><li>
Maintain documentation for funding agency or regulatory review.</li><li>
Assist with audit inquiries and document requests.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Qualifications:</b></div><div><b>
Required</b>:</div><ul><li>
Experience in construction accounting, labor compliance, certified payroll auditing, or contract administration.</li><li>
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.</li><li>
Knowledge of job cost accounting and accounts payable processes.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Teams, and Outlook.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Preferred:</b></div><ul><li>
Experience with prevailing wage or government-funded construction projects.</li><li>
Experience with government payment websites such as OB10, Tungsten, and Wide Area Work Flow.</li><li>
Familiarity with construction accounting systems; Procore, Sage 300, GC Pay.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>

Compensation and Benefits Package:</b></div><ul><li>
The compensation package is based on experience and is between $20.00 to $27.00 per hour.</li><li>
We offer Health Insurance (up to $550.00 Employer Contribution), Life Insurance (Company Paid), Dental and Vision options, and FSA Plan.</li><li>
We offer a 401k plan along with having an Employee Stock Option Plan.</li><li>
We offer 10 paid PTO days for the first year and 7 days of Paid Family Leave per year.</li></ul><div><br>
