SCOPE: 
Cost Managers support our commission leads in varying types and sizes of projects either in the pre-contract estimating stages or post contract on site. Our projects can be complex and of significant size and value. 

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:<ul><li>To support the Commission Manager&rsquo;s, taking responsibility for allocated tasks.</li><li>To provide excellent service delivery to clients, gain their trust and enhance our reputation.</li><li>To ensure that client objectives are met through the delivery of an effective cost management service from pre contract to construction completion.</li></ul>
KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>Good knowledge of and experience in the Real Estate / Property sector working for a professional cost consultancy.</li><li>Solid experience and capability of pre-contract services from feasibility through to tendering, measurement and pricing of building and MEP works for estimating and preparation of Bills of Quantities.</li><li>Experience of post-contract services, interim applications, change management processes and variation valuation.</li><li>Experience of working with standard form contracts, FIDIC preferred and knowledge of contract procedures.</li><li>Professional approach and confident in performing your role.</li><li>Ability to work with contractors personnel with confidence and assurance.</li><li>Procurement experience would be an advantage as well as experience in client facing.</li></ul>

Turner &amp; Townsend are looking to recruit a Cost Manager, to join our Real Estate team in Qatar working on a wide range of projects, often large and complex, which could include Data Centre's and Commercial office projects, which are primarily new build but could include fit out and refurbishment.

The development spans a large multi‑building campus, currently underway, with long‑term phased delivery extending over several years. This role will be central to maintaining cost governance, commercial rigor, and alignment across a large, complex site with significant civil, structural, and MEP scope.
You will serve as a key day‑to‑day client interface, ensuring disciplined cost controls, clear communication, and strong stakeholder coordination. <div>The Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the cost accounting function, ensuring accurate cost control, inventory valuation, and profitability analysis. This role provides critical financial insights to support strategic decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and drive cost optimization across the organization.
 Key Responsibilities 
<ul><li>
Lead and manage all cost accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.</li><li>
Develop and maintain product costing models, including standard and actual costing.</li><li>
Monitor and analyze production costs, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction.</li><li>
Prepare detailed profitability reports by product, category, and sales channel.</li><li>
Analyze gross margins and highlight underperforming areas with actionable recommendations.</li><li>
Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/standard) and provide clear explanations of deviations.</li><li>
Oversee inventory valuation and ensure accurate recording of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).</li><li>
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.</li><li>
Design, develop, and automate financial reports and dashboards using Excel and Power BI.</li><li>
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Finance) to improve cost efficiency.</li><li>
Establish and maintain strong internal controls over cost processes and inventory management.</li><li>
Support internal and external audits by providing required financial data and documentation.</li><li>
Lead, mentor, and develop the cost accounting team.</li></ul> 

Requirements 
<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or product-based environment.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and financial analysis.</li><li>
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).</li><li>
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Financial Modeling).</li><li>
Strong experience in Power BI (data modeling, dashboards, DAX).</li><li>
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.</li><li>
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.</li><li>
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.</li><li>
Professional certification (CMA, CPA, or equivalent) is a plus.</li></ul>
