 Requirements
 
 
 
 
 
 To be successful, you'll need:

 Degree, professional qualification in a relevant subject (i.e., development studies, social sciences, public health/health education or civil engineering) or equivalent experience.

 Substantial track record of successfully working and leading teams at a senior level across different contexts with strategic leadership and management responsibilities in international development.&nbsp;
 </li>
 <li>
 In-depth understanding of the South Asian context (social, political, policy and institutional environment).
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven track record of building and leading high performing, diverse and virtual teams, skilled in cross cultural management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Current experience of development policy and practice with key stakeholders in the region (i.e., governments, donors, regional and continental bodies and networks).
 </li>
 <li>
 Track record of policy influencing at regional and/or continental levels.

 POSITION DESCRIPTION:
 
 
 
 We are seeking a creative, forward-thinking, and organized professional to represent Amideast in the State of Qatar. The preferred candidate will be currently based in Qatar and have existing professional contacts in the Qatari business, academic, and philanthropic communities. You will assist in establishing and overseeing the local operations of Amideast, develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders especially from the business and academic communities, and ensure compliance with local regulations. The position will report to the Vice President of Development and External Engagement at Amideast Headquarters in the US, will represent the organization at events, and will spearhead new business and program initiatives. The Qatar Country Representative will also be responsible for monitoring market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and troubleshooting operational challenges.
