Ensures the safety of court staff and court users by supervising Court Security Officers in the New Hampshire Supreme Court and the Concord Probate Court. Screens court visitors for prohibited items and make security checks of premises. Responds to security incidents. Greets and assists court visitors in locating appropriate court areas. Provides training to other Court Security Officers. Assists court staff as needed.
</p><p><b>Minimum Qualifications
</b></p><p><b>Education and Experience:
</b></p><p>A high school diploma (or GED equivalent). At least three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience supervising others and/or serving in a training role preferably in a security-related or law enforcement field. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

</p><p>Plans instruction and schedules training events involving Court Security Officers.
</p><p>Conducts various in-service training events and supervises the Field Training Program involving newly hired Court Security Officers.
</p><p>Provides firearms, OC spray and handcuff training.
</p><p>Provides oral instruction in a classroom. or training setting.
</p><p>Demonstrates training and responds to trainee questions.
</p><p>Reviews subject areas and lesson plans.
</p><p>Provides leadership, instruction end correction of subordinates.
</p><p>Enforces and adheres to all rules, policies, procedures, and orders relating to court security.
</p><p>Trains, plans, and leads team that provides an advanced level of protection for judges, members of the New Hampshire Bar, Association, court staff, and members of the public.
</p><p>Evaluates work performance and conduct matters in consultation with the Court Security Manager and Human Resources.
</p><p>Assists in scheduling, submits payroll and evaluates performance of subordinate Court Security Officers.
</p><p>Prepares memorandums, correspondence, reports and other documents related to court security.
</p><p>Analyzes potential disruptive situations and reacts in a positive manner, exerts authority to maintain courtroom order.
</p><p>Coordinated scene activities and communicates with internal and external parties as necessary.
</p><p>Reviews, assesses, addresses, and works to resolve complaints and problems related to court security at assigned court location.
</p><p>Reports complaints, problems and actions to the Court Security Manager.
</p><p>Provides security for judges, members of the New Hampshire Bar Association, court staff and members of the public
</p><p>Protects the privacy and ensures the safety of the judges; maintains order and decorum within the courtroom.
</p><p>Observes movement of the public in the court and questions suspicious persons.
</p><p>Performs security screening and removes firearms, weapons, and/or contraband as necessary.
</p><p>Provides routine information regarding court procedures to the public, witnesses, litigants, and attorneys.
</p><p>Inspects courtroom, judge's chambers and other court related areas and provides perimeter checks for weapons, contraband and explosives.
</p><p>Provides security for prisoners, witnesses, and public in the courtroom and adjacent areas.
</p><p>May transport prisoners from courtroom to in-court holding cells.
</p><p>Announces formal opening and closing of court sessions.
</p><p>Escorts unruly persons from the court at the request of the judge and ensures visitors adhere to court guidelines regarding noise, food, and smoking.
</p><p>Provides general messenger service as required by judges and the clerk's office.
</p><p>Patrols physical areas of the building and grounds.
</p><p>Conducts security control in the parking lot and escorts court staff to and from vehicles.
</p><p>Responds to requests for assistance, provides initial response for first aid.
</p><p>Interacts with state, county, and local law enforcement agencies as required.
</p><p>Oversees the completion of weapon logs and incident reporting.
</p><p>Exercise the power of arrest when necessary.
