The Brand and Creative Specialist has primary responsibility for the stewardship and visual representation of the Mitchell Hamline brand through the development of traditional and digital marketing materials including programs, brochures, posters, direct mail, on- and off-campus event materials, ads, email and social media content, photography, and web presence. This position will work closely with the department's advancement staff, as well as the school's program offices, centers and institutes, and external vendors to support the execution of marketing plans and the production of creative, high-quality materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Graphic design<ul><li>
Responsible for design development of digital and print materials for the school's marketing initiatives to diverse internal and external audiences.</li><li>
Collaborate with project managers, writers, web producer/designer, digital marketer, and other marketing team and campus members to develop and execute creative concepts that comply with project specifications and meet client's communication objectives.</li><li>
Schedule, plan, set-up and art-direct photo and video shoots.</li><li>

Role Overview 
 
Catalyst is hiring a Creative Systems Specialist to help turn marketing strategy into consistent, high-quality execution across campaigns, creative assets, and digital experiences.
This role sits at the center of marketing production. You will create campaign assets, maintain websites, coordinate contributors, and help ensure marketing initiatives move from idea to execution quickly and reliably.
Success in this role means marketing programs launch smoothly. Creative assets remain consistent with brand standards. Websites stay current and well-maintained. And production workflows become faster and more repeatable over time.
This is a U.S.-based role, with a strong preference for candidates located in Austin, Texas. Local candidates who can work hybrid with the team are strongly preferred. Remote candidates within the U.S. will still be considered.
You will report to the Brand Strategy Lead and collaborate closely with strategy, creative, and paid media teams.
What You&rsquo;ll Do
<ul><li>Produce marketing assets including Canva graphics, campaign creative, presentations, and marketing collateral.</li>
<li>Update key websites, including the Catalyst site and partner properties (content updates, page creation, asset management).</li>
<li>Coordinate marketing production across freelancers, contractors, and interns.</li>
<li>Support campaign launches by preparing creative assets and coordinating with paid media and strategy teams.</li>
<li>Develop sales enablement materials including proposal decks, case studies, and presentation visuals.</li>
<li>Participate in internal and occasional client meetings to present work, gather feedback, and coordinate deliverables.</li>
<li>Build templates, asset libraries, and repeatable production workflows that improve marketing speed and consistency.</li>

<li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams.</li>
<li>Comfort participating in client conversations when needed.</li>

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<div><ul><li>
Assist in creating graphic design materials, including social media posts, flyers, event signage, and digital communications.</li><li>
Support the Strategic Communications Director with tasks such as proofing content, organizing materials, and publishing approved pieces.</li><li>
Capture photos of members, programs, and events that reflect real, authentic moments in our community.</li><li>
Work with the marketing team to contribute ideas and support campaigns that promote programs and services.</li><li>
Help maintain a consistent look and feel across all materials in line with our brand standards.</li><li>
Organize and maintain photo, logo, and marketing asset files for easy team access.</li><li>
Use tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Canva to design and edit content, while continuing to learn and grow creative skills.</li><li>

EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:<div><ul><li>

Working knowledge of graphic design principles and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, with a strong eye for visual storytelling and detail.
