GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
 
 
Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for supervising the installation, maintenance,

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 
 
Schedules and supervises a crew of skilled workers installing, maintaining, and repairing water
 
mains, services, fire hydrants, and detector checks; identifies and resolves operating difficulties;
 
ensures materials and supplies are available; coordinates requests for emergency or unscheduled
 
work; inspects work to ensure conformance with instructions and regulations including the
 
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standards, Virginia Department of
 
Transportation (VDOT) regulations as well as city and departmental policies and procedures.
 
 
Performs administrative work to include compiling and maintaining time and production records.
 
Assists with ordering and maintaining equipment and supply inventories.
 
 
Responsible for the effective supervision and administration of several crews including preparation
 
of reports, performance management, employee relations, prioritizing and assigning work and
 
related activities.
 
 
Ensures the safety of City equipment, private property, and others by following proper safety
 
procedures, watching for overhead utility lines, and checking for traffic and underground utilities;
 
performs routine checks and preventive maintenance on equipment; identifies and reports
 
equipment malfunctions; cleans equipment as needed.

<div>CREW LEADER LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE 
Crew Leaders supervise and coordinate the work of a maintenance crew on a specific project. Crew Leaders are primarily focused on overseeing that their crew works skillfully and efficiently, and that the assigned job progresses per schedule. They deal with the routing of material and equipment, as well as laying out the more difficult areas/tasks of the job. Crew Leaders must have a precise eye for detail. Additionally, Crew Leaders must assist the Foreperson/Supervisor in staying within budget. Crew Leaders must understand and utilize all the project&rsquo;s projections and profitability. Hourly pay scale between $ DOE. 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

<li>Experience: Ability to perform all primary competencies of Lead Person, Equipment Operator, and Irrigation Helper. Chemical Applicator certification is a definite PLUS.</li>
<li>Language skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with appropriate grammar and vocabulary. Ability to read and write English. Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking crew a definite PLUS.</li>

 Position Summary:
 
 
 
 Shift is evening hours: @6pm start to 2am end
 
 
 Oversees and provides guidance to the warehouse crew under direction of warehouse manager/supervisor, maintain warehouse work areas, assists with shipping and receiving functions in a timely manner, observing all safety regulations and ensuring all quality standards are met while maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.
 
 
 
 Position Responsibilities:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines. Ensure work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
 </li>
 <li>
 Obtain work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepare for operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform daily safety check of the assigned forklift / pallet jack in accordance with company policy.
 </li>
 <li>
 Meet required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist warehouse crew with duties in emergency and non-emergency situations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform damage control checks on items received and contact supervisor about removing items according to company policy.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform selection, shipping, receiving, forklift put-away/replenishment, returns, auditing and/or other warehouse duties per business need.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide oversight, direction and input on work performed by associates in assigned area.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform general housekeeping duties and keep warehouse area, loading dock and trailers clear and clean as required. Remove batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries and complete vehicle inspection checklist. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide backup support to warehouse management
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs other related duties as assigned.

 Required Qualifications
 
 
 
 High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
 
 
 1-2 years of warehouse and/or distribution environment
 
 
 Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position
 
 
 Able to work in a multi-temperature environment (dry, cooler, freezer)
 
 
 Must be able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout shift
 
 
 Able to lift and stack product between 10-35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally throughout shift
 
 
 Pass pre-employment drug test
 
 
 Basic computer skills to include MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
 
 
 Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
