</div><p>As part of the Community Assistance Program (CAP), the fundamental reason this classification exists is to co-respond to 9-1-1 calls with Fire and Police personnel as part of a two-person Crisis Response Unit, or to respond to behavioral health calls as part of a two-person Behavioral Health response Unit with a contracted Peer Support Specialist. Both units serve to de-escalate and stabilize crisis situations, and provide emotional support, victim advocacy and resource connection. The Community Assistance Program functions 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. Shift, holiday, and weekend work is required. Shifts are 10 hours/day and are assigned in consecutive days (Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday).</p><p>
Crisis Intervention Specialist are expected to work on either crisis response or behavioral health unit, as assigned. As part of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the labor unit 7, Administrative, Supervisory Professional and Technical Employees Association (ASPTEA), the departments will conduct a seniority-based schedule bids at least annually (MOA, 2024-2026, page 24.)</p><p><b>
Typical job functions include and are not limited to:</b></p><ul><li>
Serves on a mobile Crisis Response or Behavioral Health Unit team to provide crisis intervention services by responding to emergency calls that come through the 911 system.</li><li>
Conducts on-site assessments and intervention in emergency situations including unexpected death, house fires, mental health, child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assaults, substance abuse and other social determinants of health.</li><li>
Employs de-escalation techniques to diffuse tense situations and ensure the safety of all parties.</li><li>
Provides emergency assistance, emotional support, crisis counseling and resource referral to individuals in distress.</li><li>
Collaborates with law enforcement, emergency medical services, and other crisis response teams to coordinate appropriate interventions.</li><li>
Acts as a liaison between individuals receiving services and first responders, medical staff, medical examiner's office, mortuaries, and community partners.</li><li>
Transports individuals to their home, social service agencies or other appropriate resources.</li><li>
Performs short-term case management functions.</li><li>

Some Specialist positions will act as a &quot;rover&quot;. Those in the rover role will not be assigned a permanent unit. A roving Specialist will provide coverage due call-offs and vacation coverage. This position may also be placed on a unit as an additional responder when not providing coverage or will assist in temporarily filling vacancies, as needed. Specialists in this role will be expected to respond to any of the CAP locations (10) throughout the Phoenix area, as assigned.<ul><li>

CONTACT Care Line is East Tennessee&rsquo;s first crisis hotline. Our 988 Crisis Program provides text and phone-based support for individuals experiencing emotional distress or suicidal crisis. Crisis Counselors are responsible for assessing suicide risk, offering compassionate support, ensuring timely documentation, and collaborating with visitors to create safety plans. In addition to responding on the front lines, counselors are expected to engage in follow-ups, maintain communication standards, and adhere to all clinical, legal, and operational guidelines.</p><p>

Hendall Inc., a mission-focused professional services firm based in Rockville, MD, is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Call Center Specialist to support a high-visibility call center that operates 24/7/365 to assist unaccompanied alien children (UAC), their sponsors, and related parties.</p><p>
This role involves responding to sensitive, high-impact calls and providing real-time guidance, crisis response, and resource coordination to promote the safety and well-being of vulnerable youth. We are offering full-time and part-time roles which include nights, weekends, and holidays. <b>Candidates must be available to work in either El Paso, TX or Rockville, MD.</b></p><p><b>
DUTIES</b></p><ul><li>
Deliver high-quality, compassionate services to UAC, sponsors, community members, and other callers</li><li>
Communicate effectively in English and Spanish</li><li>
Maintain professional judgment, especially during crisis calls</li><li>
Respond to calls promptly</li><li>
Manage and de-escalate calls from individuals in crisis</li><li>
Triage calls for appropriate responses, referrals, and documentation</li><li>
Provide case management/referral services</li><li>
Apply quality standards to all calls and meet program deadlines</li><li>
Work with stakeholders, including legal service providers and court officials</li><li>
Assess changes affecting child safety and make referrals to officials</li><li>
Follow protocols and policies in call handling including post-call documentation</li></ul><p><b>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, mental health, or a related field.</li><li>
At least 1 year of child welfare experience.</li><li>
Bilingual in English and Spanish.</li><li>
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.</li><li>
Comfortable learning new systems and working with case management software.</li><li>
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
Ability to navigate sensitive conversations and emotionally charged topics with professionalism and empathy.</li></ul><p><b>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><ul><li>
Prior call center experience, especially in behavioral health or child/family services.</li><li>
Familiarity with Federal government programs that support UAC.</li><li>
Working knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and best practices in crisis intervention.</li></ul><p><b>
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION</b></p><ul><li>
This is an onsite role located in our secure El Paso, TX and Rockville, MD facilities. <b>Remote/virtual work is prohibited.</b></li><li>
As part of a 24x7x365 essential operation, this position may require work on <b>evenings, weekends, holidays, or during emergency situations</b>.</li><li>
A mandatory 3-week training period (combination of webinars, self-paced learning, and workshops) must be completed prior to shift assignment.</li><li><b>
