Pavilion-6, an Intermediate surgical and medical surgical unit with 30 single rooms, is deeply committed to providing exceptional patient care. Our surgical services include surgical oncology, urology, bariatrics, and thoracic and colorectal surgery. Purpose &amp; Scope:
The Trauma Performance Improvement Specialist will work at the direction of the Trauma Coordinator and Trauma Medical Director. The trauma PI specialist&rsquo;s chief responsibility is to act as a resource to the trauma service line. The PI specialist conducts the collection, surveillance, data entry, analysis and reporting of trauma quality and performance improvement information from medical records as well as other resources. The trauma PI specialist ensures data collection, management, analysis, and performance improvement requirements are met for a Level II trauma center. The PI specialist acts in a pivotal capacity for attaining and maintaining level II trauma center designation and verification. Excellent communication and organizational skills, critical thinking, and ability to pay close attention to detail are essential. Must be reliable, dependable, and able to initiate and complete projects of moderate complexity with limited supervision. He/she will demonstrate the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with teams. The candidate must be able to work in a high-pressure environment subject to multiple and changing priorities and demands. This position primarily is a weekday only position but the candidate must be able to work additional hours at times to support large projects and/or to prepare for regulatory reviews. This may require evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines and preparation goals. It should be noted this is not a patient care role.

Experience:
Five years experience in Healthcare, Emergency Services, Critical Care , or Critical Care transport is required.
Certification/Licensure:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions, or compact state, is required
Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) is preferred, or
Certified Abbreviated Injury Scaling Specialist (CAISS) is preferred.
Other Qualifications<ul><li>Completion of TOPIC (Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course) within 1 year of hire if not obtained prior</li><li>Completion of AIS (Abbreviated Injury Scaling)Course and Trauma ICD 10 course within 2 years of hire</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and computer literacy</li><li>Mastery in working with Excel spreadsheets</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and time management</li></ul></div>

The Clinical Practice Specialist develops and directs a standardized clinical education curriculum and evidenced-based nursing care standards for an identified patient population. The Clinical Practice Specialist will support Adult Acute Care Departments.</div><div></div><div>

What We're Looking For:
<ul><li>Education: Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP), required. Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD or enrolled in a DNP or PhD program with completion within 1 year.</li><li>
Experience: Minimum of three years clinical practice in specialty area, required. Critical Care or Adult Acute Care expereince, preferred.</li><li>
Licensure/certification/registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. RN professional certification in relevant specialty, required.</li><li>
Additional Skills required: Current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; understanding of customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations; knowledge of research and EBP methodologies and analyses; ability to write effectively.</li></ul></div>
