The Clinical Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in driving clinical excellence, overseeing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality patient care across the division. Position Summary: Hires, trains, manages and inspects the department clinical respiratory staff schedules, performance, and policy adherence. Communicates changes, clarifications and new information related to job performance to clinical staff. Performs respiratory care services as needed in an efficient and timely manner as outlined in department policy. Monitors quality indicators for clinical staff on a monthly basis, responds to performance below standards with an action plan to support improvement.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
<ul><li>Directs and manages the clinical staff and policies.
</li><li>Knowledgeable of and responsible for current company policies and procedures as they relate to the above duties and to maintain the clinical and regulatory standards of PHM clinical services.
</li><li>Monitors patient equipment setups, initial and routine follow-ups of clinical staff in service locations for consistency of standards.
</li><li>Oversees and co-manages the clinical staff at PHM locations. Inspects locations for proper stock levels, storage of equipment and supplies, cleaning area, log records, use of current paperwork and routinely reviews current standards and any new policies or policy changes with clinical staff.
</li><li>Directs and manages the clinical staff meeting, providing agenda and bringing in resources for on-going clinical education.
</li><li>Checks and responds to voice messages at beginning, middle and end of shift.</li><li>
Works with clinical and sales staff to provide in-services to referral sources as well as staff and patient families.</li><li>
Participates in PHM clinical staff competency assessments.
</li><li>Performs any other specific duties/tasks as assigned by leadership team.</li></ul>

Maintains and applies knowledge of indications, actions, interactions, and adverse reactions of respiratory active drugs including those which produce a secondary respiratory effect, in order to provide optimal patient care.</li><li>
Performs and documents diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in keeping with departmental standards for quality and service indicators. Matches equipment needs with associated diagnostic/therapeutic intervention. Demonstrates patient centered/patient-valued behaviors.</li><li>
Troubleshoots respiratory equipment to ensure appropriate function. Removes and labels contaminated or malfunctioning equipment for processing as described in departmental objectives.</li><li>
Promptly responds to requests for care. Provides timely reports, on transferred patients, to receiving therapy which includes priority status and pertinent case-related data. Gives and receives shift reports to the assigned therapist to ensure a clear picture of patient baseline status and care needs.</li><li>

As a Respiratory Therapist you are the backbone of the Therapy Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Harmony House Care Center by utilizing scientific and clinical principles for the identification, prevention, remediation, and rehabilitation of acute or chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction, reviewing existing data, collecting additional data, and recommending to obtain data to evaluate the respiratory status of patients, developing the respiratory care plan, and determining the appropriateness of the prescribed therapy. Initiating, conducting, and modifying prescribed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Documenting necessary information in the patient&rsquo;s medical record and communicating information to members of the health care team. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.
To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:
As a minimum, an associate&rsquo;s degree from a CoARC-accredited educational institution, one of the following certifications: CRTT, CRT, RRT, CCT, must have BLS/ACLS certification and an unencumbered State of Iowa Respiratory Therapist License. Five (5) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
