Sociology & Anthropology (SOAN): The sociology and anthropology degree offers students a major based on the shared intellectual foundations and methods of inquiry of two distinct social science disciplines. The department also supports the Human Service degree, Social Justice minor, and certificates in Cultural Resource Management and Regional Studies and Applied Research. The SOAN curriculum emphasizes an appreciation of cultural diversity and a critical, historical, and comparative perspective on social worlds. Qualified applicants will have experience teaching introductory college-level courses. Applicants with experience in either Sociology or Anthropology are invited to apply. Duties (100%)
 
The primary responsibility of a faculty member is teaching. Teaching encompasses normal instructional activities beyond the teaching of assigned courses such as academic advising, working with students outside of class, posting and maintaining appropriate office hours, course and curriculum planning, etc.
 
Efforts associated with teaching may include, but are not limited to: preparation; direct instruction; assessment; student contact outside of class (office hours, appointments, email); presenting complex concepts to a group of diverse learners; listening; understanding and responding to student questions in real-time/in a classroom environment; and applying critical judgment to student work, both written and verbal delivery of information.
 Efforts associated with lab/workshop may include: providing students with practical experience using instrumentation and equipment in a way that enables student learning and ensures safety; simultaneously monitoring and managing multiple students individually and in groups; demonstrating and executing complex procedures; and using complex instrumentation and hazardous materials.

The People &amp; Culture student supports the P&amp;C department by assisting with routine administrative and operational tasks. How You&rsquo;ll Make an Impact
Dudek is seeking to fill a Mid/Senior-level staff archaeologist position for our San Diego or Encinitas offices with a preference to be in southern San Diego County. The minimum qualified candidate will have graduate degree in anthropology or a closely related field and strong experience in cultural resource management, ability to be permitted as Principal Investigator, and regional ties to the larger archaeological community. The successful candidate should have excellent writing and communication skills and a working knowledge of California pre-contact and historic archaeology, with focused experience within San Diego, Imperial, and Riverside Counties. The preferred candidate would have experience working on energy or utilities infrastructure projects.
 
The advertised role includes managing complex archaeological investigations and analyses, developing and implementing innovative research methodologies, and providing advanced technical expertise in cultural resource management projects. The role requires expertise in data analysis and interpretation, technical reporting, field methodology development, regulatory compliance, and have experience mentoring junior staff. Additional responsibilities include managing schedules, workflows, field staff, sub-consultants, budgets, scoping for technical work, implementing safety plans, and acting as senior project archaeologist during meetings requiring direct client/agency interface.
 
This role is anticipated to largely be office-based, however, candidate should have capacity to attend regular offsite in-person meetings with Dudek and clients within San Diego, as determined by project needs. Site visits to surrounding regions for field support is also likely to be required periodically. As such, candidates must be able to work under physically strenuous conditions. Excellent communication skills, team-focus, ability to work as a crew member and/or manage field crews, ensure paperwork is completed accurately, and to logically support field decisions are also desirable qualities.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and the Heart Center at Manning Family Children&rsquo;s in New Orleans is seeking a Pediatric Cardiologist to primarily serve in and anchor its base of operations in the Northshore suburbs of New Orleans (Covington, Mandeville). Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor (non-tenure, clinical track) and will be determined by the candidate&rsquo;s credentials and experience. The candidate must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology, with a strong interest in General Cardiology. 
 
Primary responsibilities will be outpatient cardiology and echocardiography interpretation on the Northshore of New Orleans as well as our satellite clinics in Mississippi. Additional duties will be serving as an attending physician periodically on the Cardiology Inpatient Service as well as the Echocardiography Laboratory at Manning Family Children&rsquo;s in New Orleans. 
 
The selected candidate will be actively involved in medical education, including the teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows. Our ACGME-accredited fellowship program currently supports two fellows per year. 
 
This role offers a dynamic blend of clinical practice and academic engagement within a collaborative and supportive environment. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and enthusiastic about contributing to a growing program and committed to delivering exceptional patient care while advancing academic cardiology.

The Heart Center Faculty includes a team of 17 full time pediatric cardiologists including subspecialty expertise in Pediatric and Fetal Cardiovascular Imaging, Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Intensive Care, and Adult Congenital Cardiology. Heart Center staff also include 2 accomplished CV surgeons. Additional subspecialty care within the Heart Center includes expertise in Fontan management, home-monitoring, neurodevelopment, pulmonary hypertension, pediatric coronary artery disease, preventive cardiology and heart failure. The Heart Center is proud to be part of the only free-standing quaternary care Children&rsquo;s Hospital in Louisiana and the top academic heart program in the state.
