President Reshef&rsquo;s TED Talk and Nas Daily interview about the University have 30 million views combined</p><p><b>GENERAL PURPOSE:</b> The Instructional Designer (ID) collaborates with Subject Matter Experts to</p><p>develop quality online courses for UoPeople. The Instructional Designer will utilize proven</p><p>andragogical methods and current tools to create interactive and engaging content for students.</p><p>Courses are developed with full accessibility and by the university standards. Instructional</p><p>Designers act as the liaison between Department Chairs, Faculty, and Subject Matter Experts and</p><p>the internal teams involved in the design and development of engaging courses.</p><p><b>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><p>&middot; Works with Subject Matter Experts on the design and development of the UoPeople online</p><p>courses.</p><p>&middot; Provides expertise in instructional planning, development, implementation, and evaluation</p><p>of online learning courses.</p><p>&middot; Reviews online course materials for copyright and ADA and Section 508 compliance.</p><p>&middot; Collaborates with the Course Developer team to develop accessible, engaging, and</p><p>interactive content elements.</p><p>&middot; Ensures the application and integration of appropriate teaching and learning theory and</p><p>distance learning principles into a fully online course development process.</p><p>&middot; Assists with the selection of instructional materials and the design and use of learning tools</p><p>and activities for an interactive online environment.</p><p>&middot; Provides guidance and assistance for the creation of effective and meaningful assessments</p><p>of student learning.</p><p>&middot; Contributes to the identification of high-quality open education resources (OER).</p><p>&middot; Provides direction on the design and development of all course elements, including syllabi,</p><p>course learning outcomes, and curricular mapping.</p><p>&middot; Tracks progress and ensures timely completion of the overall project deliverables.</p><p>&middot; Other duties as assigned.</p><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS:</b></p><p>&middot; Master&rsquo;s degree in instructional design or related field preferred, but not required.</p><p>&middot; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required in instructional design or related field.</p><p>&middot; Relevant certifications in education and/or educational technology are acceptable.</p><p>&middot; 1-3 years&rsquo; experience required.</p><p>&middot; Fluency in languages is a plus, specifically Arabic and Spanish.</p><p>&middot; Ability to manage time, projects, and resources to achieve goals.</p><p>&middot; Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.</p><p>&middot; Working knowledge of basic instructional design principles.</p><p>&middot; Some technical skills, including a basic knowledge of HTML, Internet research, Open</p><p>Educational Resources (OERs), and educational web tools.</p><p>&middot; Proven abilities in curriculum development and instructional design.</p><p>&middot; Interest in the implementation of innovative, creative course delivery methods.</p><p>&middot; Familiarity with the OSCQR rubric preferred, but not required.</p><p>Job Type: Contract<br/>Contract length: 12 months</p><p>Work Location: Remote</p>
