 <b>JOB SUMMARY: </b>The Custodian will support the efficient operation of all spaces at 80 Pitt with an eye for detail and a strong sense of ownership. The Custodian is responsible for daily maintenance and upkeep of all bathrooms, common spaces and classrooms at 80 Pitt Street. This includes garbage removal, floor care, and general cleaning. In addition, the Custodian supports the programs with event set up and room set up as directed by the Facilities Manager or OAC Manager, as needed.</p><p><b>
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:</b></p><ul><li>
Must have a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).</li><li>
Previous youth based/school/community center security experience a plus.</li><li>
Previous experience working with a diverse population.</li><li>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><p><b>

Perform janitorial duties</p></li><li><p>
Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule</p></li><li><p>
Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.</p></li><li><p>
Operate motorized cleaning equipment</p></li><li><p>
Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area</p></li><li><p>
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor</p></li><li><p>
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures</p></li><li><p>
Stop at risk behavior of others and self</p></li><li><p>
Perform work assignments in a team with other employees</p></li><li><p>
Perform repetitive tasks</p></li><li><p>
Maintain clean work area</p></li><li><p>
Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules</p></li><li><p>
Take direction and respond to supervision</p></li><li><p>
Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner</p></li><li><p>
Fill in during staff shortage</p></li><li><p>
Support shift lead in completing punch-list items</p></li><li><p>
Use proper personal protective equipment</p></li><li><p>
Present a professional appearance and conduct</p></li><li><p>
Understand customer service and satisfaction</p></li><li><p>
Understand reporting systems, and of the environment</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Qualification</b></p><p>

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job safely. Education and/ or Experience:</b> No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p><p></p><p><b>
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: </b>May be required to have a valid driver&rsquo;s license. Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified.</p><p></p><p><b>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</b></p><p>
Bilingual a plus</p><p>
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents</p><p>
Strong verbal and written communication skills</p><p>
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team</p><p>
Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment</p><p>
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use</p><p></p><p><b>
Supervisory Responsibilities</b></p><p>
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.</p><p></p><p><b>
