 The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. We are currently seeking a Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team in Richmond, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).
 
Azure Cloud Engineer
 
NTT Data is seeking a highly capable Azure Cloud Engineer with at least 5 years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, automating, and supporting Microsoft Azure environments. This role requires a well-rounded engineer with strong expertise across Infrastructure as Code (IaC), IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, and the ability to work across infrastructure, platform services, security, automation, and operational support.
 
The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of Azure services, strong scripting and automation skills, and a proven ability to build scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions. This individual should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, supporting both project-based implementations and day-to-day cloud operations.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
<ul>
<li>Design, deploy, configure, and support cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure</li>
<li>Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar</li>
<li>Engineer, manage, and optimize Azure IaaS services including virtual machines, networking, storage, backup, and disaster recovery</li>
<li>Implement and support Azure PaaS services such as App Services, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Functions, API Management, Logic Apps, and storage services</li>
<li>Administer and integrate Azure-related SaaS offerings including Azure AD/Entra ID, and other enterprise cloud applications as needed</li>
<li>Design and manage Azure networking components including VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Application Gateways, VPNs, ExpressRoute, DNS, and firewalls</li>
<li>Implement identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, conditional access, and privileged access controls</li>
<li>Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation for repeatable, secure, and efficient deployments</li>
<li>Monitor system performance, availability, cost, and security posture using Azure-native and third-party tools</li>
<li>Troubleshoot issues across compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and application hosting layers</li>
<li>Ensure cloud environments align with organizational standards for security, governance, compliance, and operational excellence</li>
<li>Collaborate with architects, developers, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions that meet technical and operational requirements</li>
<li>Develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, standards, and operational procedures</li>
<li>Provide support for cloud migration, modernization, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications
 
<ul>
<li>5+ years of experience working as an Azure Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Systems Engineer.</li>
<li>3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure across infrastructure and platform services</li>
<li>Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code</li>
<li>Experience supporting IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions in Azure environments</li>
<li>Experience with Azure compute, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, and identity services</li>
<li>Experience with Azure governance, security, and best practices</li>
<li>Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar</li>
<li>Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent</li>
</ul>
Required Certifications
 
Candidates must hold active Azure certifications, preferably including one or more of the following:

<li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate</li>
<li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert</li>
<li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate</li>
<li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate</li>
<li>Other relevant Microsoft Azure certifications may also be considered</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
 
<ul>
<li>Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments</li>
<li>Experience with security hardening, compliance frameworks, and governance policies</li>
<li>Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning</li>
<li>Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)</li>
<li>Experience supporting enterprise-scale Azure environments</li>
<li>Experience with cost optimization and Azure resource management</li>
<li>Familiarity with ITSM, DevSecOps, and cloud operational support models</li>
<li>Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Ability to work across multiple disciplines and function as a well-rounded cloud engineer</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $94,736 – $ 150,525. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life and ADD insurance, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and additional voluntary or legally-required benefits.
