This assignment is for DENT 1260 &ndash; Expanded Functions, a course that prepares students to perform all functions legally performed by a licensed dental assistant (LDA) according to the Minnesota Dental Practice Act.</div><div></div><div>
Responsibilities:</div><div>
The instructor will teach DENT 1260 &ndash; Expanded Functions, including lecture and lab instruction. The instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including, but not limited to:</div><ul><li><div>

<p><b>
Responsibilities:
</b></p><ul><li>Maintain familiarity with college goals, mission, and long-term plans.</li>
<li>Contribute to planning and development processes.</li>
<li>Participate in recruitment and retention of students in both programs.</li>
<li>Attend required staff meetings and serve on staff committees.</li>
<li>Evaluate dental assisting curriculum and educational activities.</li>
<li>Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.</li>
<li>Regularly evaluate student achievement and provide student feedback.</li>
<li>Assist clinical coordinator with clinic supply; tracking and stocking.</li>
<li>Supervise and instruct dental assisting students during clinic.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Minimum Qualifications:
</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Allied Health Education.</li>
<li>Certified Dental Assistant through DANB.</li>
<li>Expanded duties dental assistant certified through the State of Georgia.</li>
<li>BLS certified.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Previous instructor experience.</li>
<li>Familiar with UpScale Assessment.</li>
<li>Familiar with Dentrix.</li>
</ul>

Instructors are responsible for the delivery of educational materials by utilizing sound educational practices focused on the successful academic development of each student. Instructors utilize the educational experience as a vehicle for the development of knowledge and skills of the student&rsquo;s chosen field in order to help students achieve their educational and career goals. Instructors promote an educational environment that is engaging, dynamic, and student-centered additionally providing support, tutoring and other assistance as needed. Key Responsibilities</b></h3><ul><li><p>
Utilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged educational experience to students</p></li><li><div>
Guarantee that student has been presented with the material to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course within a student&rsquo;s program of study</div></li><li><div>
Ensure that instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, are properly maintained, and are in working order</div></li><li><div>
Participate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development activities to ensure an active, engaged, and up-to-date classroom experience for all students; maintain required certification and licensure</div></li><li><div>
Actively participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines</div></li><li><div>
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory bodies&rsquo; guidelines, along with internal policies of the company</div></li><li><div>

Experience and Education Required</b></h3><ul><li><p>
Where required, must have an active certification or licensure;</p></li><li><div>
Non‐Degree and Occupational Associate Degrees technical/occupational courses: a minimum of three (3) years&rsquo; practical work experience in the field of instruction;</div></li><li><div>
Academic Associate or Bachelor's Degree technical/occupational courses: minimum four (4) years&rsquo; practical work experience in the field of instruction and possess a related degree at least at the same level as the course being taught. All online faculty must have a master's degree in the content area or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 semester/24 quarter graduate credit hours in the content area;</div></li><li><div>
Exceptional cases: eight (8) years&rsquo; practical work experience <i>may </i>be substituted for practical work experience and justified by the campus;</div></li><li><div>
General Education courses: master&rsquo;s degree with appropriate academic coursework and preparation in the subject area(s) taught &ndash; 18 semester hours of coursework at any credential level in the subject;</div></li><li><div>
Some states required 18 semester hours at the master&rsquo;s level</div></li><li><div>
Prior to beginning to teach, instructors either need to have documented prior teaching experience or complete the new instructor training</div></li><li><div>
Demonstration of the highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all aspects, including appearance, demeanor, and attitude</div></li><li><div>
Solid computer software skills including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace</div></li><li><div>
