GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB</b></p><p>
The Dental Receptionist is part of the team dedicated to providing comprehensive, accessible care and innovative practices focusing on wellness and prevention. The Dental Receptionist assists with daily activities of a dental office including greeting patients, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, patient registration, and patient referrals. This position answers telephone inquiries, directs callers to appropriate personnel, or initiates a triage email for response by dental personnel. Schedules appointments and enters appointment date and time into computerized scheduler. Reviews patient's treatment plans with them and collects copayments.</p><p>
The Dental Receptionist must be cognizant of the expectations and concerns of QuadMed&rsquo;s dental patients and be able to respond in an empathetic and professional manner.</p><p><b>
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><ul><li>
Front desk reception</li><li>
Greets patients, answers phone, takes concise telephone messages and schedules appointments</li><li>
Provides patient with all necessary registration forms and gives instructions on completion of forms.</li><li>
Verifies dental and medical insurance benefits</li><li>
Processes, codes, and completes insurance claims forms</li><li>
Uses communication skills with proper dental and medical terminology</li><li>
Performs computer skills in patient billing, transcription, scheduling, insurance claims, accounts receivables, and data entry</li><li>
Maintains supplies and equipment</li><li>
Maintains confidentiality of the patient PHI and adheres to all HIPAA regulations</li><li>
