 The Attorney 3 will be responsible for the following duties:

   Serve as primary reviewer and approver of securities product registration filings received from issuers through the North American Securities Administrators Association's (NASAA) Electronic Filing Depository. Types of product filings/exemptions include mutual funds and unit investment trusts.

   Perform legal review &amp; analysis of regulatory filings ensuring compliance with applicable laws and administrative rules.
  </li>
  <li>
   Review and approve initial and renewal filings of all Direct Participation Programs or DPPs. This includes Real Estate Programs, Equipment Leasing Programs, Oil and Gas Programs, Commodity Pool Programs, Business Development Companies, Non Exchange Traded REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts), REITs, Common Stock, Debt Offerings and Ethanol and Biodiesel Offerings among others.

   Conduct field and desk examinations of investment advisers and securities broker/dealer offices located within and outside the State of Iowa, to ensure compliance with the Iowa laws and administrative rules.

   Assist with investigations into allegations of misconduct reported to our office or identified through examination activity.

   Work in concert with the Insurance Commissioner and Deputy Insurance Commissioner to develop and promote model laws and collaborative regulatory frameworks and actions.

   Respond to written and verbal requests from the industry for general or informal information as to the requirements of Securities laws and regulations.

<p>The City of Middleburg Heights is currently hiring a full-time Building Commissioner. The Building Commissioner is generally responsible for supervising Building Department and Housing Division staff, managing and administering the City&rsquo;s code enforcement program for residential and commercial properties, and enforcing zoning codes.</p>
<p><b>General Duties:</b><b>
</b></p><p>The Building Commissioner&rsquo;s duties include administering and enforcing all State statutes and Municipal ordinances relating to building and zoning; reviewing all plans submitted for construction and to issue all licenses and permits regarding any and all construction, remodeling and repair and approve insurance policies and bonds of all contractors and subtrades operating in the City, supervising all inspectors and inspections, and issuing all Certificates of Occupancy and Re-Occupancy.</p>
<p>The Building Commissioner shall also be responsible for training staff, conducting interior/exterior inspections and re-inspections of residential and commercial properties, responding to inquiries and complaints, and making rental and vacant property inspections. The Building Commissioner shall also be responsible for reviewing the records of inspectors and assisting with the preparation of cases that will be referred to the City prosecutor.</p>
<p>The Building Commissioner must attend evening meetings of the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals and any other evening meetings as assigned.</p>
<p>Applicants must have the physical ability to work independently, manage staff, and make decisions regarding violations of the City&rsquo;s housing and building codes. Punctuality and regular attendance shall be maintained during City Hall hours Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. &ndash; 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week).
</p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p>
<p>The qualified applicant shall have at least five years of experience in the building trades or related occupations and need not be a resident of this City. Position Overview:</b> The Associate Counsel works in the Office of General Counsel to provide legal counsel, coordination, and advice to the Deputy Associate Commissioner and staff of the Division of Authorizing. This work covers matters related to the application process, renewal applications, complaints process, amendments, and all other legal matters affecting charter schools and related entities and the students they serve.</p><p>
The Associate Counsel also monitors and participates in agency matters. This includes assisting the Attorney General in court proceedings related to charter property actions and providing support for charter school investigations and interventions. Additional responsibilities include researching and interpreting the law; developing rules and statutory language; providing legal advice related to monitoring, investigations, school financial audits, academic and financial accountability ratings, and accreditation for charters, and recovery of state property held by closed charters. This position also conducts depositions and hearings under the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) before the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) throughout the state, if a school district or open-enrollment charter school challenges the findings of an agency report.</p><p>
This position coordinates with and reports to the Deputy General Counsel for Governmental, Fiscal, and Regulatory Matters and works under limited direction, with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment.<br>
