Performs a variety of routine duties to accomplish the processing of citations and court cases for court to work in accordance with, or the absence of the Municipal Court Clerk.</p><p><b>Essential Job Function</b></p><p><i>Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:</i></p><p>1. As a Deputy Court Clerk, you spend your day responding to customers regarding legal options to satisfy cases, including fines, trials or hearings, driver's safety, deferred dispositions, warrants, extensions, and posting of bonds. Your work typically involves updating case files in the Court's case management system as contact is made with customers, judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, witnesses and others. Prepare and processes traffic and parking citations filed by the Edinburg Police Department and other agencies. The Anderson County Circuit Court Clerk's Office has an immediate opening for a deputy clerk position. Due to the nature of job duties and responsibilities, this position not authorized for virtual work.<br>
<br>
Characteristics of the Job:<br>
Responsible for assisting Circuit Court Clerk in performance of constitutional duties.<br>
<br>
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
<ul><li>Entry of accurate data into court of justice case management system.
</li><li>File and retrieve legal documents and court records.
</li><li>Notifies counsel of record and parties as necessary.
</li><li>Assist public concerning the status of court cases.
</li><li>Attend court and serve as a bench clerk.
</li><li>Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.
</li><li>Ability to understand and follow instructions.
</li><li>Ability to concentrate.
</li><li>Ability to multitask and work with others on common tasks.
</li><li>Skill in the use basic of computers, software, and other office equipment.
</li><li>Skill in exercising tact and diplomacy.
</li><li>Skill in oral and written communication.
</li><li>Collect fines and fees as necessary.
</li><li>Perform other clerical duties as assigned.</li></ul>

</div><div><div><b>EDUCATION:</b> Associates Degree</div><br>

<div><b>EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:</b> NONE</div><br>

<div><b>Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:</b> NONE</div><br>
<br>
<div><b>Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:</b> High School Degree with 2 years of job-related experience.</div><br>
<br>
<div><b>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):</b> High School graduate or GED - proof of education required

</div><div>The work at times requires bending, squatting, reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights up to 20 pounds.
