 OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:
 
 Responsible for directly managing the Accounting Department&rsquo;s daily activities. Responsible for the preparation of an accurate financial statement each month. In addition, prepares Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly.
 
 
 
 RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Ensure all taxes are filed and prepared accurately each month. (I.e., VAT, sales, occupancy, etc.) and keep abreast of all regulatory changes.

 Prepare and participate with annual public accounting firm audit of books and records, owner audits and corporate office audits.

 Prepare annual performance reviews of staff.
 </li>

 Cover responsibilities of Director of Finance in their absence.

 </li>

 Directly handle all/any taxing authority audits, defending any inaccuracies presented in an audit.

 Enforce regular vacations of accounting personnel.

 Maintain a tax calendar noting due dates each year in a visible area of the office.

 Assist in the preparation of budgets; help to maintain compliance to budget guidelines.

 Work with the Division Heads in preparation of monthly forecasts and prepare comparisons for review of Director of Finance.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

 Experience: Minimum five years&rsquo; experience in hotel accounting.

<li>Develop the Finance Team&rsquo;s technical competencies in accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, tax and regulatory compliance, as well as communication, teamwork, and management skills.</li></ul> 


MUST HAVE:
<ul>
<li>Degree or Diploma in Finance, Business, or a related field.</li>
<li>Minimum of 10 years of relevant regional experience in a global organization.</li>
<li>Proven leadership and people management experience, with a track record of guiding and developing high-performing finance teams.</li>
<li>Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence across all levels of the organization.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.</li>
<li>Strategic and operational agility - capable of balancing long-term planning with hands-on execution.</li></ul>
