The Detention Officer is responsible to ensure the safety and security of detainees in custody, acting in accordance with the highest ethical standards at all times, and ensuring a spirit of fairness and integrity in the on-going execution of their duties. Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Performs duties related to the detention, processing, safeguarding, security, and escort of detainees as required by the contract
</li><li>Supervise and control detainee behavior during the operation of the detention facility; or restrain by force if necessary, using handcuffs and other restraints</li><li>
Exercise appropriate judgment in handling of special needs situations or detainees</li><li>
Communicate effectively and coherently with other staff or detainee with approved facility communication devices including the telephone system, intercom system, and portable radios; demonstrate effective communicative skills with detainee, public and staff</li><li>
Perform searches of detainees, vehicles, mail items, objects capable of concealing contraband, buildings, indoor and outdoor areas which may involve feeling or detecting objects, walking, kneeling, bending or stooping for long periods of time</li><li>
Escort detainees (hostile, aggressive, passive, etc.) using handcuffs and other approved restraints in accordance to policy and procedure</li><li>
Maintain company equipment and uniforms in functional condition as prescribed for by company policy</li><li>
Transport detainees securely using ICE approved restraints and vehicles to off-site location</li><li>
Ensure that your communication radio is in good working order with a fully charged battery

The Travis County Juvenile Probation Department (TCJPD) is seeking positive, assertive, reliable, and confident individuals to serve as role models for youth staying in our short-term Juvenile Detention facility. Juvenile Detention Officers provide for the day-to-day direct supervision of youth detained in a 24-hour pre-adjudication detention program. Officers maintain the safety and security of detained youth, ensure the health and welfare of each juvenile, counsel clients on an individual basis, and facilitate cognitive skills groups to assist juveniles in developing appropriate coping skills and prosocial behaviors. Juvenile Detention Officers implement appropriate programs for clients and document client behavior in accordance with department policies and procedures and all applicable standards. The Detention Services Program provides for the detention of male and female juveniles who are awaiting disposition of their cases by the court Services are provided 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, in a secure pre-adjudication facility. <br>The overall purpose of case management in the Onslow County Detention Center is to assess an offender’s criminogenic needs and connect them to treatment and services, helping them remain substance and crime free once released into the community. The Case Manager will work within the Onslow County Detention Center and conduct assessments for all assigned non-violent adults with substance use or co-occurring mental illness and substance use. High priority will be given to those with moderate to high risk of reoffending to reduce the risk of criminal justice recidivism. The Case Manager will coordinate with the current correctional behavioral health providers along with the medical unit and therapy staff to prepare individualized case plans, including referrals to treatment and services upon release from the Onslow County Detention Center. In addition to recovery-based services, the Case Manager will address housing, employment, education and health and wellbeing. Case management services and support takes place both in the Onslow County Detention Center and in the greater Onslow County community and surrounding counties if indicated. Case management will continue for a minimum of 90 days after release with 6 month and beyond data tracking. <br>Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, criminal justice, or a related human services field (a related human services field is one in which major course work includes the study of human behavior and development) and a minimum of one (1) year of full time or equivalent experience working with adults experiencing serious mental illness and substance use along with one (1) year of case management experience.Valid North Carolina Driver License required by first date of employment with good driving record. Primary Function</b></p><p>
The Case Processing Supervisor oversees all administrative and case management functions supporting detention facilities. This role ensures compliance with federal standards, supervises case processors, and coordinates with personnel to maintain accurate records and timely processing of detainee cases.</p><p></p><p><b>
Duties and Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>
Manage and mentor case processing staff, ensuring adherence to detention standards and facility policies.</li><li>
Assign workloads, monitor performance, and conduct quality assurance reviews of case files and data entry.</li><li>
Ensure accurate and timely updates to detainee case files and data management systems.</li><li>
Verify compliance with documentation requirements.</li><li>
Serve as primary liaison with personnel, consulates, and legal representatives for case-related matters.</li><li>
Oversee detainee communication logs, grievance tracking, and escalation of urgent issues as appropriate.</li><li>
Ensure all case processing activities comply with privacy laws, FOIA/PA, and detention standards.</li><li>

Job Requirements</b></p><p></p><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field. Degree can be substituted with 2 or more years of experience in related field preferable with immigration or correctional experience.</li><li>
Minimum 2&ndash;5 years in case management or correctional administration.</li><li>
Prior supervisory experience in a secure facility environment preferred.</li><li>
Bilingual (English/Spanish or other relevant languages) preferred.</li><li>
Must be proficient with computers, common office equipment, and MS Office suite.</li><li>
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.</li><li>
Proficiency in database management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>
Meet the requirements of the contract for all immunizations.</li><li>
Must be at least 21 years of age.</li><li>
May require evening, weekend, or on-call hours.</li><li>
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, resided in the U.S. for 3 years in the past 5 years.</li><li>
