The Development Engineer will be responsible for the design and engineering of early stage, conceptual design of large, utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) and integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in territories west of the Rocky Mountains and in Hawaii.</p><p></p><p>
The Development Engineer will work on energy and resource modeling, engineering, optimization, and design of utility-scale solar/storage projects. Project designs will be developed, optimized, analyzed and reviewed using software such as PVSYST, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PVCase, excel, etc. The role of the Development Engineer will be to support the development team for RFP submittals, permitting applications, design drafting, and perform technical due diligence to optimize the project designs.</p><p></p><p>
The successful candidate will have knowledge of designing and evaluating early-stage development projects with experience working on AC-coupled and DC-coupled battery systems to accompany solar energy systems. The Engineer will design and optimize systems based on resource availability, EPC pricing estimates from the Estimating team, specified equipment, land costs, substation and gen-tie costs, while working with the relevant teams to refine and develop a project.</p><p></p><p><b>

<p>Amphenol is seeking a <b>Standards Development Engineer</b> to play a key role in shaping the future of high-speed interconnect technologies. In this role, you&rsquo;ll represent Amphenol in leading industry standards bodies (such as IEEE, PCI-SIG, and OCP), ensuring our solutions remain interoperable, reliable, and performance-driven. You will collaborate closely with industry partners, customers, and internal teams to drive next-generation copper and optical interconnect solutions for applications like Ethernet, PCIe, and AI fabrics.</p>

<p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES:
</b></p><ul><li><b>Standards Leadership:</b>
<ul><li>Define requirements for the performance, quality, and interoperability of interconnect solutions across the High-Speed Products Groups portfolio.</li>
<li>Develop system, component, and structure models to verify proposal proposals for performance metrics and compliance criteria.</li>
<li>Support collection, formatting, and processing of datasets to validate proposals for performance and quality metrics and interoperability and compliance for key customers and industry standards</li>
<li>Represent Amphenol in key industry standards meetings and conferences.</li>
</ul></li><li><b>Technical Development &amp; Validation:</b>
<ul><li>Build and analyze system, component, and channel models to validate compliance and performance metrics.</li>
<li>Support interoperability and compliance testing for customer and industry validation.</li>
<li>Partner with R&amp;D to align new designs with standards and troubleshoot/debug as needed.</li>
</ul></li><li><b>Collaboration &amp; Advocacy:</b>
<ul><li>Work with industry partners, customers, and internal teams to ensure interoperability and standards alignment.</li>
<li>Promote internal adoption and ensure compatibility across relevant product lines and factories.</li>
<li>Work closely with Marketing teams to prepare and release promotional materials for new standards and technology aligned with major industry events (e.g. DesignCon, OFC, OCP Summit, etc.)</li>
<li>Support Field Sales with product roadmaps and compliance messaging across cross-functional teams.</li>
</ul></li><li><b>Documentation and Communication:</b>
<ul><li>Prepare clear technical reports, proposals, and presentations for internal and external audiences.</li>
<li>Contribute to technical papers and represent Amphenol at conferences.</li>
</ul></li></ul><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS:
</b></p><ul><li><b>Education:</b> Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.</li>
<li><b>Experience:</b>
<ul><li>5+ years of experience in industry standards and related fields, ideally with high-speed products and applications.</li>
<li>Experience with data center architectures, such as spine-leaf and AI-fabric designs.</li>
<li>Experience with both copper and optical interconnects.</li>
<li>Knowledge of system-level bring-up, diagnostic, and</li>
</ul></li><li><b>Technical Skills:</b>
<ul><li>Conversant in Ethernet, PCIe, and related standards documentation.</li>
<li>Proficient in system, component, and structure modeling programs (e.g. ANSYS Suite, Matlab, Python, PCI-SIG Seasim, IEEE Channel Operating Margin (COM)).</li>
<li>Experience with interoperability testing tools and platforms.</li>

<ul><li>Strong analytical and statistical approach to problem solving.</li>
