RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sr. Product Development Engineer will be responsible for concept generation, design, verification and qualification of High Speed IO products for 112Gb signaling and beyond. The position provides opportunity for close customer interaction. You will also work with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel, supporting the development and validation of product prototypes through pilot production, as well as interfacing with beta-site customers.<ul><li>
Conceptualize, design, and develop cable assemblies and/or IO connector systems from initial proposal to successful tooling and product qualifications.</li><li>
Perform Design FMEA, Tolerance Analysis, Design for Manufacturability, FEA Analysis, and Risk Analysis.</li><li>
Work with Marketing and the customer to define customer needs and functional performance requirements. Assess technical risk.</li><li>
Work with internal and external (vendor) manufacturing disciplines including Stamping, Plating, Molding, and Assembly to optimize design for production processes.</li><li>
Lead product design reviews.</li><li>
Verify accuracy of product drawings and ensure proper usage of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.</li><li>
Work with Materials Engineering to define metal and polymer material choices based on requirements associated with performance, pricing, and global sourcing.</li><li>
Present product concepts to customers early in development cycle, interpret feedback, and incorporate any revised requirements into the design.</li><li>
Define Product, Application, and Packaging specifications.</li><li>
Define a verification and product qualification test plans.</li><li>
Manage the resolution of first article inspections.</li><li>
Work closely with NPI and manufacturing engineering to ensure products are transitioned to the manufacturing</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
5 to 10 years' experience in electro-mechanical design is required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</h2><ul><li>3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience</li><li>2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience</li><li>1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience</li><li>1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience</li><li>1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience</li><li>Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field</li><li>Experience programming with at least one software programming language</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</h2><ul><li>3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience</li><li>Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent</li><li>Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems</li><li>Experience in managing or implementing system health, performance monitoring, capacity planning, or process improvement and automation</li><li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes</li></ul>

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
