As an important member of our team, the Dietary Aide provides assistance in all food service functions to ensure patients’ dining needs are met in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Your daily responsibilities will be providing assistance in food preparation and serving, while maintaining clean and sanitary conditions.
 
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:

<li>High school graduate or equivalent preferred</li>
<li>Prior health-care experience preferred</li>
<li>Prior food services experience preferred</li>
</ul>

Dietary Cook Job Summary: 
The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing and providing food services to residents in a cost-efficient manner to safely meet residents’ need in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
 
Dietary Cook Major Duties and Critical Tasks: 
<ul>
<li>Prepare and serve meals for residents and staff in accordance with food safety regulations and within physician’s/nutritionists’ dietary recommendations</li>
<li>Maintain high standard of food preparation, sanitation, storage, and portion control</li>
<li>Determine food and supplies needed for daily menus; obtain supplies in time for adequate production</li>
<li>Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved</li>
<li>Assist in scheduled cleaning duties following established sanitary standards</li>
</ul>
Dietary Cook Other Duties:

<li>Participates and assists in departmental studies and projects as assigned or as may become necessary.</li>

Dietary Aides are health professional who work in food service to prepare and serve meals to residents. They work alongside Dietary Managers and Cooks to help prepare food for residents.
 
Responsibilities and duties include but not limited to:

The Cook-Dining Services Aide prepares food, delivers food from the area of preparation to the residents at their tables and/or apartment. The position will be responsible for ascertaining that the residents are satisfied with the menu items, providing beverages and re-fills as needed as well as providing condiments and other items the resident may request.
