As an important member of our team, the Dietary Aide provides assistance in all food service functions to ensure patients’ dining needs are met in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Your daily responsibilities will be providing assistance in food preparation and serving, while maintaining clean and sanitary conditions.
 
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:

As part of a strong care team, providing amazing service and maintaining our Resident’s health and safety through our food and nutrition program are our dietary aide’s primary responsibilities. Dietary Aides are health professional who work in food service to prepare and serve meals to residents. They work alongside Dietary Managers and Cooks to help prepare food for residents.
 
Responsibilities and duties include but not limited to: 
<ul>
<li>Preparing meals, snacks, and beverages following specific procedures</li>
<li>Serving meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times</li>
<li>Taking inventory of kitchen supplies and food items</li>
<li>Staying current on the individual procedures and protocols for their facilities, including state-specified rules and regulations</li>
<li>Setting up and taking down dining areas and assisting with kitchen maintenance and general cleaning</li>
</ul>
A dietary aide is a great place to start in food services or healthcare; grow within the department by learning additional responsibilities such as cooking or managing supplies, or grow within health care as a C.N.A., nurse, or Activities professional.

The Cook-Dining Services Aide prepares food, delivers food from the area of preparation to the residents at their tables and/or apartment. The position will be responsible for ascertaining that the residents are satisfied with the menu items, providing beverages and re-fills as needed as well as providing condiments and other items the resident may request. The position is responsible for bussing tables, changing table linens and resetting tables following meal service as well as pouring beverages and setting up tables prior to each meal service.
