Job Description 
 
Boston College Libraries are seeking one temporary full-time archivist, to arrange and 
describe digital files from a digital collection of the archdiocesan papers of Saint &Oacute;scar Romero. 
Romero was assassinated on March 24, 1980 while Archbishop of San Salvador and 
named a modern martyr by the Catholic Church. The collection is a digitized version of the 
microfilmed papers that the Archdiocese of San Salvador has authorized Boston College to 
appraise and host in an open-access database. The archivist will prepare and implement a processing plan, for arranging and describing the digital materials (with both hierarchical descriptions and item-level metadata, in Spanish and 
English), and for assisting with a thorough review of the files to help determine which to include in the database. The archivist will also advise on other aspects of the Project as appropriate, including the evaluation of content and interfaces for public online access to the Project materials. The archivist may also supervise part-time student assistants who will support various aspects of the Project. The archivist will report to the Associate Director of Academic Programs and Special Projects, who is supervising the Project

 Position Summary
 
 
 This position has overall responsibility for the acquisition, appraisal, and preservation of scheduled Wisconsin state government agency records series with historical value in all formats. This position serves as the Agency Records Officer and is responsible records management of the WHS&rsquo;s records including writing record schedules, managing disposition, and managing the WHS&rsquo;s use of the State Record Center. Working in coordination with the accessioning archivist, this position also plays a role in the arrangement and description of state agency record series. The work of this position involves frequent contacts with outside agencies, institutions, and individuals. This work is accomplished in cooperation with public records staff, Wisconsin Historical Society IT staff, and staff at the Department of Administration.

Associate Archivist 
 
Boston College Libraries are seeking two full-time, permanent Associate archivists to support and manage the growth of the Catholic Religious Archives . Established in 2019, the program&rsquo;s mission is to collect, preserve, and provide access to the archival records of Catholic religious congregations worldwide, that are either coming to completion or needing support to maintain their documentary heritage. The archivists will report to the Director of the Catholic Religious Archives. 
 The archivists will be responsible for accessioning and processing archival collections using an instance of the Libraries&rsquo; archives management system (ArchivesSpace). In addition, the CRA Archivists will supervise in-person use of the collections by researchers in a reading room environment, and will also respond to reference questions, fulfill scanning requests, and provide other remote reference services. These are in-person positions that report to the Head, Catholic Religious Archives
