 The Fort Worth Report is seeking an editor to cover nonprofits, a sector increasingly filled with uncertainty amid a shifting financial landscape. Our rapidly growing news team seeks a journalist adept at juggling quick turns and in-depth enterprise coverage of nonprofits, philanthropies and the social safety nets across Fort Worth and Tarrant County. In addition to reporting, this position will also mentor and sometimes direct reporters on other beats, including faith, arts and health, when nonprofit coverage intersects those areas of coverage.
 
 
 
 
 
 The nonprofit beat is squarely focused on the issues that affect the everyday lives of Tarrant County residents, exploring how changes inside nonprofits have ripple effects in the community. In this role, the Associate Editor will pitch, write, edit, and update articles, recipes, recipe galleries, newsletters, SEO-driven content, and more as assigned. They will be responsible for shepherding this content through its full lifecycle and across all relevant platforms. They will also be involved with project management on longer-lead packages and stories.
Primary Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Generating ideas for stories that fit our rubrics and align with editorial calendars, themes, and goals</li><li>
Writing and reporting content for cooking section and other sections as needed</li><li>
Assigning and editing articles, galleries, and other types of content for our digital platforms and the print magazine</li><li>
Leveraging our vast archive and various tools such as KW Finder, Google Trends, etc., for ideating, writing, and editing</li><li>
Tracking and reviewing cookbooks with creator relationships and traffic/engagement-driving content in mind</li><li>
Conceptualizing how recipes and stories might live across all editorial facets of the brand (digital, print, social, podcast, video, etc.), and contributing across platforms as needed</li><li>
Assist with project management on longer-lead columns, packages, and stories</li><li>
Strategically updating content for search optimization</li><li>
Optimizing new and evergreen for different platforms (e.g. social, newsletter, print, etc.).</li><li>
Content production tasks as assigned, including using our CMS to build and package stories, editorial calendar data entry, and more.</li><li>
Participating in video, social video, and special events and projects as assigned</li><li>

The expected base salary range for this position is from $70,000- $82,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.

Entertainment Weekly is seeking an Associate Editor to join its digital SEO team. This role focuses on assigning and editing timely content driven by the entertainment and celebrity news cycle, with a strong emphasis on TV, film, and streaming explainers, as well as evergreen entertainment content. The ideal candidate is a sharp editor and digitally savvy pop culture expert with a strong grasp of SEO best practices and performance analytics. 
As part of a fast-paced newsroom, this editor should be comfortable handling 3&ndash;5 edits per day while staying closely attuned to breaking news and emerging trends, and delivering clean, accurate work on tight timelines. This role requires a self-starter who can confidently recruit and manage both internal and freelance writers. This position will also involve working on various projects across different departments and communicating with stakeholders. 
Hybrid 3x a week (New York)
This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
About the Team
The Associate Editor will join a small, nimble SEO team focused on identifying daily trending opportunities across the entertainment and celebrity news cycle. Working closely with an existing editor, this team is responsible for shaping daily coverage, optimizing content for search, and scaling timely, search-driven storytelling across all of EW&rsquo;s verticals. 
The team operates at the intersection of editorial instinct and performance, balancing speed with precision and using data to inform coverage decisions in real time. Pay Range
Salary: New York: $67,000.00 - $68,000.00
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance.
