<p>Western Kentucky University (WKU) Libraries invites applications for a tenure-eligible faculty librarian to serve as the Digital Stewardship Librarian within the Department of Library Collections &amp; Discovery. This position plays a critical role in advancing WKU Libraries' stewardship of distinctive cultural heritage collections by ensuring their long-term preservation, bridging traditional archiving while transforming them into accessible, discoverable, and usable resources.</p>
<p>Reporting to the Department Chair, the Digital Stewardship Librarian provides leadership across the full lifecycle of collections, including appraisal, accessioning, arrangement, description, preservation, and access. Working collaboratively with colleagues across Collections &amp; Discovery this position aligns people, workflows, and technologies to create a cohesive preservation-to-access pipeline for born-digital and digitized materials.</p>

<div><div>The University of Kentucky Libraries is vital to fulfilling the goals of enhancing and expanding the university&rsquo;s research enterprise, and we are looking for a tenure-track faculty librarian to serve as the Electronic Resources Librarian. The Electronic Resources Librarian reports to the Director of Acquisitions and Licensing and supervises the Electronic Resources Unit. The Electronic Resources Unit is responsible for managing licenses, electronic resource access, tracking usage, and providing support to users. The unit is involved in all aspects of electronic resources including trials, activation, maintenance, assessments, renewals, access, cancellations and management of post-cancellation rights.</div><div><br>
<b>
Duties and Responsibilities:</b></div><ul>
<li>Provide leadership and supervision for the Electronic Resources Unit, which includes two full-time remote workers and, as needed, temporary employees, graduate students and student workers.</li>
<li>Develop, refine, and maintain workflows that ensure users receive seamless, reliable, and user-friendly access to the university&rsquo;s electronic resources.</li>
<li>Assess and monitor electronic resources to ensure compliance with federal and state accessibility guidelines.</li>
<li>Manage the full lifecycle of electronic resource acquisitions and renewals, including license negotiation, license record maintenance, development of best practices, and support for colleagues across the library system.</li>
<li>Develop and manage effective data-gathering processes for pricing, usage, and other metrics that support collection assessment, budgeting, and reporting requirements.</li>
<li>Partner with the Coordinator of Liaison Services and the Coordinator of Collection Strategies to enhance awareness and effective use of electronic resources.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with the Director of Acquisitions and Licensing and the Coordinator of Collection Strategies on evaluating, renewing, adjusting, and selecting electronic resources.</li>

Your Distribution of Effort (DOE) range: Primary assignment: 70-80%, Service/Prof. development and scholarship 20-30% and is reviewed at minimum annually each year. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The minimum salary for a Librarian IV is $57,000 and for a Librarian III is $62,500.
