A DSP may provide supports to a person with a disability at home, work, school, church, and other community places. A DSP also acts as an advocate for the disabled individual, in communicating their needs, self-expression and goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Assist with daily living skills (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry, meal preparation).</li><li>
Promote appropriate community integration and social interaction (e.g. visiting family, friends, church/temple, etc).</li><li>
Implement outcomes developed through a Support Plan.</li><li>
Complete paperwork as assigned including documentation (e.g., incident reports, outcomes, log entries).</li><li>
Administer and record medications pursuant to State and Agency requirements, where applicable. With valid APD training Medication Administration Fl Code 65 G-7.</li><li>
Accompany residents on medical appointments when needed.</li><li>
Maintain living environment in accordance with D.D.A. regulations and health department standards.</li><li>
Provide Transportation to our consumer as needed.</li><li>
Make oneself available in emergency situations as the need arises.</li><li>
Work cooperatively with professional and paraprofessional staff in the interest of the consumer.</li><li>
Communicate with and update the Supported Living Coah on a regular basis, if applicable.</li><li>
Assist the consumer with recreational, cultural and vacation plans of his/her choice.</li><li>
Provide independent and functional living instructions to the consumers.</li><li>
Complete all state required trainings.</li><li>
Assist with shopping (e.g., food, clothes).</li></ul>
Education and Experience:<ul><li>
