About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Director Specialist Solutions, the PSS Global Commercial Director owns the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for a sizeable global recurring revenue portfolio. This is both a strategic and hands-on role: you will set direction, lead cross-functional execution, and serve as the commercial authority for a portfolio spanning multiple products and regions. 
You will drive growth through renewals excellence, new business enablement, pricing and packaging innovation, and strategic technology partnerships that embed our content into clinical workflows. Success in this role directly protects and grows revenue, accelerates deal velocity and deal size, opens new sales channels and strengthens Elsevier&rsquo;s position in specialist clinical decision support.
What You&rsquo;ll Do
GTM Strategy &amp; Execution
<ul><li>Develop and own the annual PSS GTM plan: market segmentation, targeting and positioning, sales plays, pricing strategy, and packaging across all global regions.
</li></ul><ul><li>Identify and develop strategic technology partnerships to embed PSS content into clinical workflows, increasing institution-wide adoption and renewal stickiness.
</li></ul><ul><li>Design scalable packaging and cross-sell offers &mdash; including specialist bundles &mdash; to increase average deal value and expand the customer base.
</li></ul><ul><li>Lead B2B and B2C growth motions, including campaigns to build early loyalty among residents and early-career clinicians.

<ul><li>Own renewal strategy across all regions, enabling Account Management with usage data, ROI frameworks, and value-articulation tools to retain at-risk accounts and grow the base.

Required

You'll start very hands-on, and as you prove it out, grow into owning the entire growth function.<div>

What you'll own</h2><ul><li>
Paid acquisition across every channel. Mobile, web, and CTV: Meta, Google, Apple Search Ads, and the CTV platforms. Drive installs and trials down to a CAC and payback we can scale on, and do it on more than one or two channels.</li><li>
The Premium subscription funnel. This is the part of the business we're betting on. Own it end to end: trial starts, trial-to-paid conversion, and retention. Think in LTV and payback, not cost-per-install.</li><li>
Creative that's grounded in what's worked. Run a real test-and-learn pipeline with our designer and video producer. Know which creative is winning and why, carry the proven pieces forward, and keep the quality bar high before anything goes live with budget behind it.</li><li>
The data. You don't wait on a data team to tell you what's happening. You're in the dashboards (and Snowflake) every day, you write your own queries to check whether something worked, and you catch the broken number before anyone else does. When you need a new signal or event tracked to measure something, you work with our engineers to get it implemented and help test it yourself. And you move on the best signal you have rather than waiting for a perfect, complete picture before you act.</li><li>
AI as part of how you work.
