Your responsibilities</h3>
<ul><li>Design, develop and maintain software applications and services for laser facility operation, data handling and automation</li>
<li>Build and support CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks and deployment tooling</li>
<li>Elicit and manage technical requirements together with engineers and scientists</li>
<li>Collaborate on, and continuously improve, the architecture and technology stack</li>
<li>Define and document functional specifications, test plans and acceptance criteria</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">What you bring</h3>
<ul><li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related Engineering field</li>
<li>3+ years of hands-on industry experience in software development (backend, systems or application development)</li>
<li>Strong programming skills in languages like C++, Python, Java, C#, Kotlin, Rust or similar</li>
<li>Solid grasp of modern software development practices, processes and tools (CI/CD, Git, automated testing, etc.)</li>
<li>Experience working in a software development team following established practices and processes</li>
<li>Fluent English; German proficiency is welcome</li>
<li>Flexibility, adaptability and a hands-on, can-do attitude</li>
</ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">What sets you apart</h3>
<ul><li>Experience with development of distributed systems</li>
<li>Experience interfacing software with hardware (PLCs, embedded systems, instrumentation)</li>
<li>Experience with EPICS (epics-controls.org) or other control system frameworks</li>
<li>Experience working with scientific facilities like laser laboratories, accelerators, etc.</li>
<li>Understanding of real-time concepts and industrial interfaces such as EtherCAT, Modbus-TCP, and serial protocols</li>
