The General Manager II guarantees the overall success of a highly complex, 500,000 - 1.5 + million square foot distribution center environment to ensure it is a productive, safe and positive place to work. The GM II is responsible for the overall management, planning, organization and execution of complete day- to-day operation for the entire Home Depot distribution center and budget of typically $40+ million. They are responsible for maximizing productivity and expenses while working ethically and modeling Home Depot's core values. They accomplish this goal by developing strategies and objectives and leading a team of managers in executing these strategies and objectives. They must ensure that the distribution center is optimally organized to provide excellent customer service to Home Depot Stores and Customers by ensuring all merchandise is delivered on-time and damage free. The GM II must have a comprehensive knowledge of the Distribution, Warehousing, and Delivery business, be able to use this knowledge to formulate goals and objectives and be capable of motivating his/her self and a team of 200-400+ Associates to work as a team and accomplish these goals and objectives.</p><b><br>
Key Responsibilities:</b><ul><li>
30% Managing all aspects of the DC's financial, operational, people and process and service related objectives to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains to reduce overall cost-to-serve; Participates in strategic and business process improvement projects for the distribution network. Depending on DC, may manage 3PL provider to ensure optimal performance and metrics are achieved.</li><li>
20% Evaluates the effectiveness of and recommends alternatives for work methods, procedures, controls and staffing to achieve accurate and timely movement and processing of product; manage to ensure warehouse layout is optimally aligned for maximum efficiency as seasonality and inventory needs require.</li><li>
15% Interact with business partners to drive results and deliver solutions including Supply Chain, Operations, Merchandising, Finance, Human Resources, Asset Protection and Stores; identify and share best practices across the Distribution network</li><li>
15% Coaches, trains, and develops Associates informally and through formal training programs, providing both informal (e.g. on-floor coaching) and formal (e.g. written evaluation) job performance based feedback. Maintains a union free work environment by creating an employee-centered work place that demonstrates care and concern for all Associates.</li><li>
10% Directly responsible for ensuring that Store and Customer needs are met, service is managed to KPIs, and any Store or Customer concern is handled promptly and completely; manages through emergency issues with Stores and Customers; conducts store walks with store leadership team in the area that the DC services.</li><li>
10% Ensure a culture of safety throughout the organization by following Home Depot safety policies and procedures - monitor DC safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis</li></ul><br>

</li><li>Manages warehouse KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and including it in the warehouse team&rsquo;s performance development plans. Create SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timely) goals that impact KPIs such as productivity, order fulfillment time, average retention rate, etc.
</li><li>Recruit, onboard, train and empower warehouse operations leaders and team members. Align organization and define objectives to deliver on key company expectations and metrics.</li><li>Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring and managing operation goals.
</li><li>Partner with the Quality department to ensure that products are handled properly to provide accurate and timely delivery to our customers. Identify trends or challenges and troubleshoot within the warehouse operation.
</li><li>Coach, counsel, and discipline warehouse employees as needed by developing and enforcing policies and procedures.
</li><li>Conduct meetings with team and attend meetings as needed
</li><li>Maintain consistent communication with the General Manager to ensure transparency and effectiveness.</li><li>Proactively identify, incubate, and deploy best practices across all warehouse functions. Promote an environment for continuous improvement.</li><li>Oversee the environmental health and safety of the warehouse worksites, adhering to all documented processes and procedures. The Warehouse Manager will participate in the creation of documentation i.e., SOP creation and development.
</li><li>Manager will be able to identify and request warehouse equipment and submit to Director of Warehouse Operations.</li><li>Direct responsibility of the safety and cleanliness of the warehouse. Must be able to identify hazards and conduct training and job safety analysis on a yearly basis.
</li><li>Must be comfortable with technology and have measurable deliverables within the warehouse applications, procedures, dashboards, and KPIs.</li><li>Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local laws and has thorough knowledge of company policies.</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds at a time.</li></ul></div>

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</b><br>
<ul><li>At least four to five years of progressive general warehouse experience including two years of as a team lead or supervisor.
</li><li>Must have a keen attention to detail and be able to identify areas of opportunity.
</li><li>Knowledge of best-in-class warehousing and distribution functions, with the ability to set goals to reach that point.
</li><li>Experience working with diverse workforce; possesses the depth of experience and leadership style to effectively manage an employee base.
</li><li>Demonstrated ability to utilize innovative strategies to recruit and retain skilled and in-demand talent.</li><li>Needs to be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written.</li></ul></div>
