Dist. Dispatcher Associate:
What You&rsquo;ll Do
Promote and enforce the Company's Safety and Health programs. 
Be knowledgeable and adhere to written company and department policy and procedures. 
Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company's Corporate Compliance Policy. 
Effectively operate company communication equipment. 
Track crew locations and ongoing work on the distribution system. 
Dispatch service personnel to respond to outage and emergency situations. 
Authorize the energizing and restoration of distribution facilities. 
Maintain accurate outage records. 
Maintain accurate records of abnormal and defective equipment for distribution facilities. 
What We&rsquo;re Looking For:
Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in any field, OR Associate&rsquo;s degree in electrical or electronic technology, OR High School Diploma with 2 years of experience with technical customer support and service, including successful multi-tasking and handling of multiple programs/screens.
Other: Successful completion of the System Operator/Power Dispatching Selection System (SO/PD) is required for this position. A review of Employment Test Prep information may be helpful. Rotating shift work required. Must maintain a high availability for call-out response. Due to call-out responsibility, applicants must live within or be willing to relocate to within 30 minutes of the reporting location. Must satisfactorily complete required training and testing to progress to the next level within the Distribution Dispatcher Associate classification within 2 years and to the Distribution Dispatcher classification within 4 years or vacate the position. Promotion and/or equity adjustments within the classification will be made in salary upon successful completion of the required training and testing. Must be able to work under pressure during periods of critical system conditions and deal with diverse situations simultaneously. Other: Rotating shift work required. Must maintain a high availability for call-out response. Due to call-out responsibility, applicants must live within, or be willing to relocate to within, 30 minutes of the reporting location. Under immediate supervision (Dispatcher I) or general supervision (Dispatcher II), to receive all incoming calls for police and fire assistance for a number of local jurisdictions and dispatch necessary units using a computer aided dispatch system; to perform a variety of general support duties related to communications activities; and to do related work as required. 
 
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS 
 
Dispatcher I- This is the entry level class in the Dispatcher series. This class is distinguished from the Dispatcher II in that incumbents of this class are trained in department policies, procedures and systems. Generally, work is observed and reviewed both during performance and upon completion. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience. 
 
Dispatcher II - This is the journey level class within the Dispatcher series. Skill to:</div><ul><li>
Operate a sophisticated computer aided dispatch system quickly and accurately.</li><li>
Operate a computerized dispatch teletype and other office equipment quickly, accurately and, at times, concurrently.</li></ul><div>

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. The Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and managing the schedules and movements of personnel, vehicles, and products. This role is crucial in ensuring timely, safe, and efficient delivery of services. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain effective communication under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Schedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles, and/or service teams based on customer needs, service calls, or predetermined routes.</li><li>
Monitor and track the location of drivers in real-time using GPS or other tracking software.</li><li>
Maintain detailed records of service calls, route changes, and other dispatch-related data in the system.</li><li>
Communicate with drivers, field staff, and customers to ensure accurate delivery and/or service completion.</li><li>
Respond to doctor inquiries, providing updates on the status of services.</li><li>
Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that arise during the dispatching process.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.</li><li>
Prepare daily reports for management, summarizing service and dispatch activities.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
High School Diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or transportation management is a plus.</li><li>
Proven experience as a Dispatcher or in a similar role.</li><li>
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.</li><li>
Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.</li><li>
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment.</li><li>
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li><li>
Ability to work Monday to Fridays from 8am to 5pm.</li><li>
Familiarity with local geography and traffic patterns.</li></ul>
Preferred Skills:<ul><li>
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.</li></ul></div>
