The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for establishing and maintaining successful operations of an assigned area, department, or shift of the warehouse/distribution center. They ensure that the department has adequate staffing, proper training, the needed tools and resources, standards of productivity, safety and sanitation, and proper procedures of stocking, selection, and quality that will meet customer demands for accurate, quality, on-time deliveries.

What you'll do as a Distribution Supervisor: 
<ul><li>
Direct and motivate teammates.</li><li>
Communicate company and division information to teammates.</li><li>
Listen, address and follow-up to teammate concerns, questions and problems.</li><li>
Facilitate communication within the warehouse leadership team and between division/warehouse leadership and teammates.</li><li>
Understand DC goals and standards, implement department procedures to meet those standards, and promote them to and gain buy-in and positive results from teammates; standards may include but will not be limited to: productivity, order quality, damages, shrinkage, safety, sanitation, turnover and overtime.</li><li>
Ensure department and warehouse procedures will cut unnecessary costs, add value for customers, and improve morale and the work environment for teammates.</li><li>
Ensure the work environment is maintained in a clean and safe manner following government, company and Silliker standards.</li><li>
Supervise and manage daily work of department teammates.</li><li>
Create and maintain schedules and job assignments of department teammates.</li><li>
Maintain all departmental paperwork.</li><li>
Provide training as needed to maintain an efficient and knowledgeable workforce.</li><li>
Provide coaching/corrective action, training and development for teammates.</li><li>
Enforce all Distribution Center policies and issue coaching/corrective action as needed.</li><li>
Ensure adherence to proper operational and safety procedures.</li><li>
Be a visible and a vocal advocate for safety.</li><li>
Relieve other supervisor(s) during their vacations.</li><li>
Comply with company work and safety rules.</li><li>
Be trained and certified to operate any required equipment within 30 days after hire.</li><li>
Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the changing needs of the Distribution Center; work schedules may require working an early shift, staying long for a late shift, and weekend work depending on the customer and operational requirements of the division.</li><li>
Work in warm and cold temperature conditions that may range from 38&deg;F to 110&deg;F; a supervisor assigned to the freezer must be able to periodically work in temperatures as cold as -10&deg;F.</li><li>
Periodically stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp and reach above the head as needed.</li><li>
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as a Distribution Supervisor: 
<ul><li>
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.</li><li>
A bachelor's degree is preferred.</li><li>
Have 2 years distribution warehouse experience, preferably in the grocery industry.</li><li>
Have experience leading large numbers of warehouse staff with experience in hiring, training, motivating and resolving employee relation's issues.</li><li>
Have computer knowledge to include experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.</li><li>
Demonstrate the ability to lead by example.</li><li>
Possess good written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>
Be willing to listen and respond to teammates.</li><li>
Have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and teammates.</li><li>
Have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
</li><li>This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. <div>Position Purpose:
The DC Area Supervisor leads an hourly team and influences the entire distribution team to do the fast-paced work required to run the distribution center as efficiently, safely and productively as possible. This role will handle management responsibilities for the team members under his/her supervision. This role is responsible for ensuring prompt, efficient and accurate handling of merchandise as well as developing and implementing team goals. This role is responsible for hiring, evaluation, development, discipline, and termination of hourly associates. This role has management responsibilities for 20 to 30 hourly associates. 
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>
45% Managing Process: Ensures all operations procedures are followed effectively, and identifies and recommends needed changes to Operations Manager and/or Assistant General Manager on the standardized processes for the functional area. Evaluates and analyzes current work methods and recommends ways to eliminate inefficiences.</li><li>
25% Coaching and Developing Associates: Guides associates in daily operations, and monitors to ensure a high degree of productivity, safety, service and quality. Responsible for the training, coaching and feedback of hourly associates, and performs regular evaluations of associates through factual data and subjective observations. Uses discretion to provide coaching and counseling to associates regarding job performance, methods of performing job tasks. Resolves associate relations issues that arise in assigned functional area. Responsible for hiring, compensation, discipline and terminations of hourly associates in assigned department. Investigates operational errors to determine the cause and recommends corrective action where needed.</li><li>
15% Drives Results: Maintains inventory accuracy and control; reviews reports identifies area of improvement for key metrics inclouding productivity, accuracy, quality and expenses.</li><li>
15% Business Planning: Coordinats and monitors operations with the functional area to ensure performance production rates are consistent with business plan and pattern, reducing irregularities and damages. Reviews reports and business metrics to analyze and plan staffing needs for optimimum department operations.
</li><li>Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assisgned by Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager or General Manager.</li></ul> 

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:<ul><li>
This position typically reports to the Operations Manager.</li><li>
This position is accountable for the direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.</li></ul>

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.</li></ul> 

Physical Requirements:<ul><li>
