The Press is seeking a detail oriented newspaper Editor to supervise and evaluate the work of writers, reporters, and other editorial staff. 
General responsibilities include:

Responsibilities 
The managing editor coordinates the work of editorial, multimedia creators and production to fulfill content creation deliverables and timelines and to produce trusted health information, evidence-based and Mayo Clinic-vetted knowledge created in text and multimedia formats and delivered through digital and print channels to empower target audiences to effectively manage their health at their stage in life. Responsible for factually, stylistically and grammatically correct content and timely creation and hand-off in assigned area(s). Qualifications 
The Managing Editor requires a Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field. Must have at least five years of publishing experience (creating content, editing content or overseeing the creation/editing of content) and demonstrated leadership abilities for managing people, projects or both. Proven track record for managing evidence-based editorial content published to multiple delivery channels. Must possess knowledge of or experience with mobile content strategy/practices and structured content principles. Proven track record for analyzing and accurately synthesizing actionable information from medical literature and subject matter experts. Experience in making deadline-driven editorial decisions and project management, and ability to effectively coach staff and thrive in a team environment.Background in health or science related information or subject matter expertise in health and wellness.

 Chevron is seeking a Managing Editor, Newsroom who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Chevron's Content Newsroom and how that content cascades into our broader integrated programs. Primary responsibilities for Newsroom include the management of the Newsroom's editorial and publishing calendars, making story assignments and leading a team of brand journalists and editors. Job Summary</h2></div><div>
The managing editor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of a news desk, providing newsroom communications to all key stakeholders, ensuring the production of high-quality, accurate, and engaging content across multiple platforms. They work closely with reporters, editors, content producers and senior executives to develop real-time editorial strategies, manage workflows, and maintain ethical journalism standards. This position requires strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to balance breaking news with in-depth coverage while driving audience engagement.</div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Responsibilities</h2></div><div><ul><li>
Implement editorial strategies and set the news desk's daily and long-term coverage priorities.</li><li>
Supervise and mentor editors, reporters, and content producers to maintain high journalistic standards.</li><li>
Ensure accuracy, fairness, and compliance with ethical guidelines in all reporting.</li><li>
Collaborate with senior leadership to shape content strategies across broadcast, digital and social media.</li><li>
Oversee the editing and production of news articles, features, and investigative reports.</li><li>
Collaborate with reporters on timely story submission, oversee copy edit and content distribution.</li><li>
Team up with special investigative reporters on long-form stories from start to finish.</li><li>
Copy edit story submissions, write supporting articles for broadcast stories and generate break news promotional copy.</li><li>
Manage newsroom resources, assignments, and deadlines to maintain efficiency.</li><li>
Coordinate breaking news promotions across multiple platforms including web, app and social media.</li><li>
Monitor industry trends, audience behavior, and competitive media landscapes.</li><li>
Guide and implement newsroom policies and workflows to enhance productivity and innovation.</li></ul></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Qualifications</h2></div><div><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in marketing, communications, media, journalism or a related field</li><li>
8+ years of experience of building and executing digital strategies in news or media</li><li>
5+ years of experience at a fast-paced and complex organization</li><li>
Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, etc.)</li><li>
Experience writing headlines, longform news articles and social post copy</li><li>
Excellent verbal communication skills</li><li>
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate performance data</li><li>
Experience with digital management tools and analytics platforms</li><li>
Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet competing deadlines</li><li>
Ability to work independently and as part of a large, multifaceted team</li><li>
