About the Role
As a Content Specialist, you'll report directly to the Head of Marketing and own the words, voice, and editorial strategy behind how Giftogram shows up in the market. This is a role for someone who thinks in systems. They can zoom out to map a full content strategy and zoom in to edit a sentence until it's exactly right.
You'll be the keeper of Giftogram's brand voice, the engine behind our blog and long-form content, and the person who makes sure every asset, from a sales one-pager to a G2 review callout, sounds like Giftogram. You'll manage a mix of ongoing freelance writers and source new ones as project needs evolve, and you'll work closely with the Sales Enablement Specialist, Demand Gen Manager, and subject matter experts across the business to produce content that's accurate, on-brand, and built to perform.
What You'll Do
Content Strategy &amp; Brand Voice<ul><li>
Own and evolve Giftogram's brand voice guidelines, ensuring consistency across every content format and channel, from website copy to sales decks to email sequences</li><li>
Think macro about content needs across the full GTM motion. Mapping what content exists, what's missing, and what should be prioritized based on pipeline stage, buyer type, and business goals</li><li>
Contribute content strategy and copy direction for social media, advising on how to repurpose and extend long-form content as social fodder across LinkedIn and other relevant channels</li><li>
Analytically articulate the role content plays in Giftogram's GTM motion, connecting content output to pipeline influence, SEO performance, and sales enablement impact</li><li>
Think beyond the written word! Understand when and how to deploy video, customer testimonials, research data, G2 review widgets, and other content formats to maximize impact at each stage of the funnel</li></ul>
Blog &amp; Long-Form Content<ul><li>
Own the Giftogram blog end-to-end, including editorial calendar, topic ideation, writing, editing, publishing, and performance tracking</li><li>
Develop long-form content including guides, thought leadership articles, and use case-driven pieces that serve both SEO goals and buyer education across HR, marketing, sales, and consumer audiences</li><li>
Apply SEO and AEO best practices to all content, structuring for search intent, featured snippets, and AI-driven search surfaces</li></ul>
Social &amp; Multimedia Content<ul><li>
Write social copy and develop content frameworks that translate blog posts, research, and campaigns into platform-native content for LinkedIn and beyond</li><li>
Develop video scripts for product explainers, customer stories, and campaign content in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external producers</li></ul>
Sales &amp; Marketing Asset Support<ul><li>
Partner with the Sales Enablement Specialist to write and edit customer-facing assets including one-pagers, pitch decks, capability overviews, and email sequences, ensuring brand voice and messaging consistency throughout</li><li>
Own the end-to-end production of case studies including coordinating with customers, sales, and internal stakeholders to capture the story, write the narrative, and package it for use across sales, marketing, and the website</li><li>
Advise on how to leverage G2 reviews, customer proof points, and third-party validation more effectively across the website, sales materials, and campaigns</li></ul>
Research &amp; Reports<ul><li>
Contribute to the development of original research reports on an as-needed basis. You&rsquo;ll support narrative development, data storytelling, and content packaging from raw findings to polished, publishable output</li></ul>
Freelance Management<ul><li>
Manage an ongoing stable of freelance writers, both creative and technical, providing clear briefs, editorial feedback, and quality control to ensure output meets Giftogram's standards</li><li>
Source and onboard new freelance talent as project needs evolve, building a reliable bench of writers across relevant content categories</li></ul>
What You'll Bring<ul><li>

<div>Scope of Position
The OSUCCC &ndash; James Executive Communications Specialist supports the development and writing of speeches, presentations, and other narrative content on behalf of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center &ndash; Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC &ndash; James). This role focuses on researching, interviewing subject-matter experts, and translating complex scientific and clinical concepts into clear, compelling stories for diverse audiences across internal and external channels. The Specialist also assists with preparing materials for media, periodicals, digital platforms, and other communication outlets. 
This position is situated within the Marketing and Strategic Communications Department, which is responsible for the overall image management and all internal and external communications and marketing activities for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and associated departments, clinics and research facilities. 
Position Summary
The Executive Communications Specialist supports the research, coordination, national- reputation and thought- leadership content for the CEO of the OSUCCC-James. This includes, long-form writing such as book chapters, editorials, speeches, presentations, as well as internal and external executive communications correspondence, event briefings, backgrounders and talking points). The Specialist helps develop clear, accurate, compelling written materials for a range of audiences and channels, translating complex scientific and clinical topics into accessible narrative content. 
The Executive Communications Specialist is responsible for not only planning and creating high-quality content but also distributing it through various communication channels &ndash; traditional, interactive, social and emerging technologies &ndash; and optimizing its findability and shareability by web-based search engines and across digital channels. In addition, this position may be assigned to participate in and support various ad hoc committees and work teams involving other OSUCCC &ndash; James and Medical Center faculty and staff, department team members, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, web developers and user-experience designers both in-house and freelance. This role requires excellent reporting, writing, and editing skills, as the Executive Communications Specialist will often be required to produce high-quality content on a quick deadline. This position interacts as-needed with appropriate OSUCCC &ndash; James and Medical Center leaders and will support the Director of Executive Communications with editing, writing and proofreading to facilitate special projects and promote OSUCCC &ndash; James initiatives and manage and send enterprise-wide emails on behalf of the Office of the CEO.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: For Hire: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in journalism, English, history, bioethics, STS, science and/or related field required.
Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in communications, writing, research, journalism, speechwriting, editorial work or related field required. Strong professional writing, presentation development, and strategic communications experience, knowledge of effective editorial and techniques.
Experience conducting interviews, synthesizing complex information, and producing clear, compelling written materials. Strong problem-solving, writing, editing and proofreading skills essential.
