Academic Year Student Advising and Support</b></div><ul>
<li>Serve as an advisor to an assigned caseload of continuing students, monitoring academic progress, coordinating support services (e.g., tutoring, accommodations), and meeting individually on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis</li>
<li>Participate in program activities (some evenings/weekends), including monthly student meetings, study breaks, and end-of-semester recognition events</li>
<li>Maintain knowledge of campus resources and make appropriate referrals (e.g., Student Life, Student Financial Services, First-Year Program, Academic Advising, Intercultural Engagement, Center for Career Excellence, CSTEP, McNair, Community-Based Learning, Student Accessibility Services, WORD Studio/Tutoring/ PQRC, Financial Aid, Health &amp; Counseling, Safety &amp; Security, Business Office)</li>
<li>Attend weekly staff meetings, A-Team meetings in the Director&rsquo;s absence, and support the development and coordination of the HEOP Student Advisory Committee</li>

The Assistant Director may serve on university committees, attend off-campus meetings as the HEOP Director&rsquo;s designee, and perform additional duties as assigned. The Assistant Director is expected to model professionalism and provide mentorship at all times, both on and off campus, regardless of whether they are actively performing assigned responsibilities.<br>
<br>
The Assistant Director will be supported with opportunities for professional development, including workshops, conferences, training sessions, and coursework, as approved by the HEOP Director and senior leadership. This position is appointed at the discretion of the President of the University and is eligible for the full range of university benefits.</div>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in education, counseling, higher education administration, or related field required; Master&rsquo;s degree preferred</li>
<li>2&ndash;5 years of experience in student support, advising, counseling, or financial aid (or equivalent combination of experience and education)</li>
<li>Supervisory experience preferred</li>
<li>Knowledge of New York State HEOP guidelines, financial aid processes, and compliance expectations</li>
<li>Demonstrated commitment to supporting students from educationally and economically disadvantaged backgrounds</li>
<li>Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability with Microsoft 365 (including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams), Outlook Email and Calendar;</li>
<li>Experience with data systems and ability to learn case management and enrollment platforms (e.g., Starfish, Slate)</li>
<li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license required</li>
</ul>Preferred Qualifications
<ul><li>Experience coordinating summer bridge or pre-college programs</li>
<li>Experience with program assessment, data-informed decision-making, and retention strategies</li>
<li>Demonstrated commitment to equity, access, and student success within a residential liberal arts environment</li>

<p><b>REPORTS TO:</b> Hope House Director</p><p><b>STATUS:</b> Full-time, Night Shift</p><p><b>POSTION SUMMARY:</b> Child Care staff are responsible for meeting the needs of residents, taking into account the residents&rsquo; ages, physical and mental conditions, and other factors that affect the amount of attention indicated. The Child Care Worker is responsible for implementing the daily living program for all children in the shelter. Child Care Workers are directly accountable to the Director. Child Care Workers relief personnel or volunteers are accountable to the Child Care Worker on duty.</p><p>Under the direction of the Director, the Child Care Worker II assumes additional responsibilities within the recreation program, which includes the implementation of recreational activities, developing recreational plans and activities for other Child Care Workers, developing weekly and monthly recreation schedules, monitoring all recreational activities, developing and submitting, at least monthly, but more frequently as needed, recreation program reports to the Hope House Management Team, which includes the Director and the Executive Director.</p><p>In the absence of the Director, the Child Care Worker II can also act as the Shift Supervisor on Duty.</p><p><b>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><p>&middot; Participates with the Hope House Management Team in developing program curriculum and recreational activities for shelter residents;</p><p>&middot; Provides supervision of program and leisure time activities of residents, including supervising the recreational and leisure activities provided by Child Care Worker I;</p><p>&middot; Provides training and supports to Child Care Worker I in performing approved recreational and leisure time activities;</p><p>&middot; Assists Director in gathering and ensuring all documentation and record keeping for shelter;</p><p>&middot; Provides residents with a high level of staff interaction and trauma informed care;</p><p>&middot; Provides emergency first aid as needed;</p><p>&middot; Performs intake when resident comes to shelter;</p><p>&middot; Maintains cleanliness of shelter;</p><p>&middot; Prepares meals and snacks during mealtime and snack time, per the pre-approved menu plan;</p><p>&middot; Maintains up-to-date case records;</p><p>&middot; Supervises volunteers;</p><p>&middot; Receives twelve (12) hours of in-service training each fiscal year;</p><p>&middot; Maintains current first aid and CPR certification;</p><p>&middot; Is knowledgeable of the Policy &amp; Procedure Manual;</p><p>&middot; Conducts shift change staffing;</p><p>&middot; 24-Hour supervision of residents;</p><p>&middot; Attends staff meetings;</p><p>&middot; Aides and support residents in performing chores;</p><p>&middot; All other duties as assigned.</p><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:</b> Child Care staff must possess adequate education, training, and experience to perform the essential functions of the position.</p><p>&middot; Must be 21 years of age or older;</p><p>&middot; CPR/First Aid Certified (will be provided during training);</p><p>&middot; Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Psychology, Child Development, Education or related field is required for the Child Care II position</p><p>Pay: From $16.00 per hour</p><p>Benefits:</p><ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul><p>Work Location: In person</p>
