Typical hours for this position are 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday and may include some evenings dependent upon business need.

Court Reporter, St. Louis County, Virginia, Judge Friday

<div><p><b>Judge Michelle L. Clark, who is chambered in the Douglas County Courthouse, Alexandria, Minnesota, seeks qualified candidates for a Court Reporter position, preferably Stenographic. </b>The ability to travel is a requirement for this position as the court reporter will occasionally work in other counties within the Seventh Judicial District.
</p><p>This position is responsible for the verbatim recording and transcription of testimony from judicial proceedings, hearings, and conferences, in compliance with all applicable statutes and court rules or as directed by the appointing authority. Additionally, the court reporter serves as the judicial officer's confidential assistant.
</p><p>Alexandria is a beautiful, vibrant community of approximately 15,000 located midway between Fargo and the Twin Cities along Interstate 94. The North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts seeks a qualified Court Reporter - Resident to record and transcribe verbatim, court trials, hearings, and conferences in Superior Court. Work originates from the need to make a true, complete, and accurate record of civil and criminal proceedings as required by law, to provide transcripts, as requested, and to certify to the record's accuracy.
<p></p><p><b>Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
</b></p><p>Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
</p><ul><li>Record proceedings of court trials, hearings, or conferences by stenotype, or voice-writing methods.
</li><li>Transcribe the proceedings into accurate transcripts for purposes of appeal or by order of the court.
</li><li>Read aloud, as required, statements of participants during court proceedings.
</li><li>Place identifying marks on supplemental materials for inclusion in the transcript.
</li><li>Assure evidence has been properly introduced and marked as exhibits.
</li><li>Take dictation of orders and findings of fact, creating documents necessary for a judge's signature.
</li><li>Maintain file, notes, tapes and records of notes indexed to facilitate later reference and use.
</li><li>Proofread, edit, and certify transcripts.
</li><li>Respond to inquiries from court personnel, attorneys, citizens, and prisoners.
</li><li>Complete activity reports and travel reimbursement forms if applicable. Submit reports to the Administrative Office of the Courts and/or the court reporting manager in a timely manner.
</li></ul><p></p><p>The resident Court Reporter position reports directly to the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge or their designee.<br>

</b></div><div><b>Knowledge of: </b>English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; court rules, regulations, procedures, and operations; legal and various specialized terminology; and transcript format and style.

<div><div>The employee in this position is responsible for providing accurate, verbatim stenographic (machine method) reporting of court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and conferences within the Court of Chancery. This role ensures the timely preparation and delivery of transcripts as required. The position involves regular interaction with court personnel, litigants, and the public, and operates as part of a team under the supervision of the Chief Court Reporter in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Occasional travel to Kent and Sussex Counties is required.

US District Court - District of Minnesota

<p><b>POSITION OVERVIEW</b></p><p>The U.S. District Court Clerk&rsquo;s Office for the District of Minnesota is seeking a Court Reporter to office in Minneapolis, Minnesota with travel to Minneapolis, Duluth, Fergus Falls, and Bemidji as required.</p><p>The primary focus of the Court Reporter is to provide court reporting services to the Court. This position serves the Court en banc and can be called upon to cover court reporting of proceedings held before the Court, and for the transcription of those proceedings upon request.</p><p><b>REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES</b></p><p>&middot; Attend and record verbatim proceedings held before United States District and Magistrate Judges and transcribe those proceedings upon request. Provide realtime transcription to judges and chamber staff at all proceedings.</p><p>&middot; Read back the court record as required.</p><p>&middot; Create audio recordings of pleas, arraignments and proceedings in connection with the sentencing of criminal defendants.</p><p>&middot; Transcribe digital audio recordings.</p><p>&middot; Upload audio recordings, transcripts, reports and other documents.</p><p>&middot; Work as part of a team of reporters for the judges of the court.</p><p>&middot; Adhere to all requirements of the Court Reporter Management Plan for the District and the Guide to Judiciary Policy.</p><p>&middot; Perform administrative duties as assigned.</p><p>&middot; Requires occasional travel within the district, as needed.</p><p><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><p>&middot; Must possess at least four years of prime court reporting experience in the freelance field of service, in other courts, or a combination thereof.</p><p>&middot; Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification from the National Court Reporters Association.</p><p>&middot; Degree from an accredited Court Reporting School or Program.</p><p>&middot; The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational skills and communication skills to permit the production of transcripts within strict time limitations, work well under pressure, and be willing to work as part of a team of court reporters under the direction of the Clerk of Court in fulfilling the needs of all judicial officers of the court. The candidate must possess tact, judgment, poise, initiative, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.</p><p><b>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><p>&middot; Special consideration will be extended to reporters who hold a Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR) certification or Registered Merit Reporter (RMR) certification.</p><p>&middot; Prior judiciary experience is strongly preferred.</p><p>&middot; Case Catalyst software strongly preferred.
