Position Overview:</p><p>
We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and experienced <b>in-person</b> School Psychologist to join our team on a contract basis. As a School Psychologist, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, collaborate with educators and families, and contribute to fostering a healthy learning environment. You will work in a school setting, offering evaluation, consultation, intervention, and prevention services that support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being.</p><ul><li>
Responsibilities: conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to determine students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.</li><li>
Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).</li><li>
Provide counseling and interventions to support students' emotional and mental health needs.</li><li>
Participate in multidisciplinary teams to address students' academic and behavioral challenges.</li><li>
Offer consultation and training to school personnel on strategies to improve learning environments and student outcomes.</li><li>
Promote positive mental health through prevention programs, crisis intervention, and school-wide initiatives.</li><li>
Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations.</li></ul><p><b>

Make referrals and participate in the coordination of community support services</li><li>

Qualifications:</p><ul><li>
Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved/accredited program</li><li>
Valid state license or state department of education certification (as needed) as a School Psychologist. (if applicable)</li><li>

Prefer experience working as a School Psychologist in a school setting.</li><li>
Prefer knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.</li><li>

Provides individual and group coaching/mentoring to assigned team or Social Workers.</li><li>
 Plans, coordinates and participates in-service training for school staff.</li><li>
 Develops and maintains positive relationships with community agencies, school districts&rsquo; committees of special education.</li><li>
Demonstrates, promotes and practices cultural sensitivity towards students and staff through respect and understanding achieved through training and Agency cultural activities.</li><li>
Uses a variety of appropriate psychological instruments and techniques to conduct initial and reevaluations based on state guidelines.</li><li>
Provides consultation services to school personnel in the areas of social grouping, learning styles, social skills, motivation, behavior management peer interaction, goal setting, etc.</li><li>
Chairs and/or participate in CSE meetings.</li><li>
Conducts FBAs and leads the development, implementation and monitoring of BIPs in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.</li><li>
Conducts training workshops for students, families, and staff.</li><li>
 Recommends purchase of necessary supplies, materials and resources to school leaders.</li><li>
 Writes proposals to secure grants for special projects or research programs.</li><li>
 Constructs comprehensive psychological reports which include specific intervention and remediation strategies to be used.</li><li>
 Ensures current plans for students are appropriate to their social, emotional, and educational needs, maintaining an awareness of the impact that relationships and activities may have on planned objectives, and reporting such observations to the treatment team.</li><li>
 Interprets results of assessments and shares results with student, parent school personnel and other appropriate professionals.</li><li>
Participates in family conferences, education team, clinical team and faculty meetings and planning and review conferences.</li><li>
 Establishes and maintains appropriate contacts in the field to ensure reliable and current information.</li></ul><ul><li>
Collaborates with administrative staff for oversight of PBIS/MTSS processes within the schools and facilitates as a Tier 3 PBIS Coach.</li><li>

POSITION SPECIFICS:</b></p><p><b>
Education:</b></p><ul><li>
Master&rsquo;s degree in Psychology from an accredited institution, NYS certification in School Psychology.</li><li>
Good working knowledge of NYS laws and regulations for Special Education.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Experience:</b></p><ul><li>
Minimum of 3 years&rsquo; experience as a school psychologist in an education setting.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
