<p><b>JOB SUMMARY</b></p>

<p>The EKG Technician acquires EKG's, application of Holter monitors and operation of the EKG management system including the editing process. Follows infection control guidelines. Performs all office duties including answering the phone, completing departmental paperwork, filing, test resulting and conducting front office duties. Complies with hospital and departmental policies and procedures as well as assists with the hospital and departmental performance improvement plan. Trains new personnel.</p>

 Within 90 days of hire, the EKG tech must show competency in the following areas: performing advanced testing and patient monitoring procedures to include preparing patients for event monitoring, Holter monitoring, mobile telemetry monitoring, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. The EKG tech will assist in routine, echo, and nuclear stress tests, monitoring the patient for blood pressure and equipment function during stress testing as well as assisting the physician during the stress test procedure. The EKG tech will have a thorough knowledge of the stress computer system as well as advanced EPIPHANY applications. The tech will have the ability to perform EPIPHANY troubleshooting procedures and to act as charge in the absence of the Lead Tech or the Director. The EKG technician will be able to scan Holter monitor tests and prepare a report for physician interpretation. Completes special assignments as required. Requires minimal supervision.</p>

American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN with Epic experience and outpatient clinic skills for a 13-week contract at a fast-paced outpatient clinic, with first-time travelers welcome.</p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Details</b></h3><ul><li>
Outpatient clinic setting covering Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics locations</li><li>
Patient population spans general outpatient, urgent care, and pediatric cases</li><li>
Performs a wide range of clinical skills including 12-lead EKG/ECG, blood glucose monitoring, IM/SQ/oral/subcutaneous injections, vaccine administration, telephone triage, throat specimen and nasopharyngeal swab collection, ear flushes, simple dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure tray setup, medication reconciliation, specimen labeling, and pharmacy/refill calls</li><li>
Scheduled for 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday&ndash;Friday, 7:00 AM&ndash;5:30 PM, plus rotating Saturdays 9:00 AM&ndash;1:00 PM</li><li>
Floating required to all FM, IM, and Pediatrics locations</li><li>
Epic EMR experience required (preferred per additional notes)</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Requirements</b></h3><ul><li>
Current LPN or LVN license required if applicable</li><li>
Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience</li><li>
Outpatient clinic or urgent care experience required</li><li>
Ambulatory and Pediatrics experience required</li><li>
Current BLS certification required</li><li>
Epic EMR proficiency required</li><li>
Proficiency in rooming, injections, EKG, nasopharyngeal swabs, blood pressure monitoring, and ear flushes</li><li>
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment</li><li>
Strong communication skills, flexibility, adaptability, dependability, and punctuality</li><li>
2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years</li><li>
Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained</li><li>
All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>

First-time travelers are accepted for this position</li><li>
Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are eligible at a different pay rate</li><li>
Completed competencies expected include rooming, injections, EKG, nasopharyngeal swabs, blood pressure monitoring, and ear flushes</li><li>
Rotating Saturday coverage is required in addition to standard weekday schedule</li></ul></div>
